What do you think Sirius, about how Facebook will morph without any fact-checking at all?

Back to Facebook, that site will devolve into either an echo chamber like all the rest, or into a cesspool of vile behaviour and/or a disinformation shitshow, like all the rest.

Open debate is not infighting it's progress. We are not the Borg, we are all individuals with our own opinions and ideas. You refer to us as supports/MAGA's because you would like to place everyone who voted against the normal establishment into a box or collective. It's not like that, what you are seeing is a diverse cross section of the American populace who now recognize how they have been sold out, used, and abused by the people who were supposed to keep that from happening, and it's not a right left issue it spans the entire political landscape and spilled over into the judicial and justice departments like a cancer. I hope this new administration can get this country back on the right track, the last time Trump was president we were so close even with the entire planet working against him. I will say this as a final thought. If your not a believer in capitalism, your probably not going to have a good time.

I think this has been way off topic, so lets move back on point. What were we talking about again? Oh yeah Facebook, market place is nice but watch out for scams.

They must rip off all the band aids and just let pandora out of the box, things will sort out.  The problem for me is the kids and I don't have a solution for that.

I didn't view anything here as off topic. 3 billion people uses Facebook platforms everyday and Marc has 100% control of that so all natural discussion in my mind, besides his policy changes and iron neck brought this thread to life.  Guess the policy changes was the more interesting point.

Regular Joe isn't the problem, it's the bots and shills etc..

Get this, Facebook will add AI bots to engage more people on that platform. Isn't this the pandora of bots and shills?

I think this will be a success there because those AI bots will give us exactly the engagement we want according to our wants, needs and biases. It will be a very cozy nice comfortable place to be for those who can't or won't apply critical thinking.

The bots are a real problem, I read somewhere and no I don't have the link, that half the traffic on social media sites are bots. I think people aren't realizing they are mostly arguing/debating with bots and not always another real person.

Sirius, Facebook AI with Llama 3.2 just sent me a message "Imagine an alien" with a picture of an alien above. It's insidious.

Here is the pic it sent me. If anyone thinks this is fun, then have at it. Nothing is private online, including our posting here. At this point, I can't find any way to turn it off.
