You Are The Sand (OOBE)
#1
To cut a long story short, I used to experiment a lot with OOBE and I was very sure I had the key to make it happen. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, but remain interested, I'd like to recommend a book called Journeys Out of the Body by Robert Monroe.

If you're still with me, I'll mention that I had my own particular methods that worked pretty well for facilitating lucid dreaming, astral travel, etc. The vibrational state that Monroe describes is very much a part of this. I believe OOBE is the evolution of sleep paralysis states.

I had abruptly stopped these attempts at OOBE for a couple reasons:

1) My meditations were growing increasingly dark and troublesome. My wandering thoughts were often painful, violent, dark and disturbing. Although I've heard this is sometimes normal, it became very overwhelming and I felt I was tapping into something that wasn't me, and I hated having to confront such horrible pain. My meditation teacher brushed it off and assured me it'll go away and that it means nothing (B.S.!) Instead it got worse. I felt I was not getting the guidance I needed, and the meditations were no longer fruitful. So I stopped.

2) A set of my most recent OOBE/ lucid dream experiences were also fraught with negativity and darkness, and I wanted nothing to do with it anymore. If anybody has read the book mentioned above, or is familiar with the process, you may be aware of the sensation of your astral body separating from the physical body (a floating or levitating feeling where you can observe your physical body and surroundings freely.) The last time I experienced this phenomenon, I had a sense that I was not alone during this transition process. I asked these 'visitors' what they intended and they told me point-blank that once I left my body they wanted to inhabit my body for themselves. I noped the F to the Hell No out of that and aborted the whole thing, and have never made another attempt.

So the point I wanted to get to here, is about one particular OOBE or astral travel I had.

Once I separated, I saw the Earth from a very great distance, like you see in those NASA photos and such. Couldn't make out the Great Wall of China but I could see the land masses. My attention was focused down and magnified onto the Great Pyramid complex in Giza. I'd also like to mention there seems to be some kind of guide always behind me out of view during these experiences. I've never heard or talked to them, but I sense them.

At first I saw the Sphinx in great detail. Except on the back of the Sphinx was a stone monument of many animal species melded together. I have since been told this is called a 'chimera.' It was a genetic admixture of many animals disgustingly fused together.

After I took notice of this chimera monument, I took notice of a very, very, very large dragon-like creature wrapped around the Great Pyramid. It seemed very amused that I was there, and it had a very angelic feminine voice. (If you are craving physical details I will say it was very long and serpentine, snake-like, and winding. It reminded me of the kind of very long and thin dragons you see in traditional Chinese art and watercolors. It was a very dark hue of purple, almost black, but shimmering purple for sure.)

It had made a series of images flash in my mind, like a flip book on super high speed. I saw many images of the past, photographs, people, places etc. I couldn't take all of it in. However, I do recall that multiple time periods seemed to be emphasized: ancient, very ancient, modern etc. I also remember being able to see a few photograph images of several people (past lives maybe? They seemed familiar somehow. Some seemed more familiar than others, if that makes sense.) The only interpretation I could make of this demonstration was that this dragon creature knows all the past, and it knows me too. It knows more than I can even process, was the gist that I got.

When I inquired about the nature of the images, the reason for my being there and the meaning of all the things I was witnessing, it again had a very amused air, like that of a teacher to a dumb student, or a parent to a naive child--trying to contain its bemusement as it spoke. It did not speak in a mocking tone, but one of gentleness.

It said, "You are the sand. And you are in Egypt. But for now, go back to sleep."

The female dragon seemed very pleased and satisfied with this answer (I was not!) It seemed that the joke was that I wouldn't understand, or maybe I'll never understand, this is above me and beyond me and the few words wasted on me were pearls before swine. The dragon had indulged me, humored me, then bonked me back out of that wavelength.

I woke up.

I find it interesting that it told me to go back to sleep and the result was me waking back up to my physical self.

So what's in Egypt? Documentation of ourselves as a species? Genetic records and journals of our biological evolution? Perhaps the last vestige of Sumerian knowledge that was tucked deep away before it became bastardized and lost. Akashic records?

I felt like it meant that the answer would arrive in my lifetime, but I'm not sure anymore--the cultural and religious climate in the Middle East these days tells me that a radical and challenging archaeological discovery will never be allowed to see the light of day. It would shake too many people to the core, those who cling to their roots and traditions.

Those words have always been with me though. I will never forget that the answer lies in the sand and that we are the sand. Maybe we are, as biological life on this planet, an infinite amount of scattered, tiny pieces waiting to be made whole again.

Either way, it was an incredibly entertaining vision and I'm happy to finally share it here on the one website it actually belongs.

Very curious to hear from others as usual, input, interpretations, corroborations etc.

I have a theory, you become a beacon, like make allot of noise when you have an OOBE and it's a shared space for telepathic beings for lack of better words. Our eyes just don't see the right wavelengths so we don't notice the commotion we cause around us all the time metaphorically speaking.

I'm more worried about drawing whatever cryptid/visitor is hunting in the neighborhoods attention than any form of Casper the ghost....  There is great thread here https://denyignorance.com/Thread-UFO-Cryptid-Research

That’s a fascinating series of experiences you had, AlroyFarms. Especially your last attempt that sounds quite terrifying.

I’ve had some OOBE experiences; mainly when I was younger. However, they just happened naturally and I can’t remember what I did to tap into the events. I only recall that I dream more lucidly if I eat cheese before going to bed.

The OOBEs didn’t last long and I wasn’t really sure what was going on, but I’ve always been intrigued by the phenomenon. However, after what you described, I’m not so sure I want to try forcing it to happen.

As for the message that ‘we are the sand’, I’m as befuddled as you. But, last night I tried to think of sand in a different way, different perspective. Sand is a potpourri of the 'everything and everyone' reduced to their essential elements…

Notwithstanding the chaos and variety, sand can be fused to make glass… Is there some significance in that? Clarity, maybe?

Anyway, just food for thought.

I had considered the 'glass' angle, but I just didn't get enough context. It may have multiple meanings of course.

Sand is crude and scattered, while glass is refined and homogenized. I also took it to mean there may be something actually buried in the sand.

As for OOBE, I believe I was in a bad place at the time so had to take a long break from it all. I think there is such a thing as too much, too soon.

This is a reminder that there may be both negative and positive actors 'out there.' It's not all cherries and cupcakes.

The good news is that I think I'm ready to try again.

We should realise, that when you are out of your body there is a still a copy of your consciousness in your physical body.  It is most definitely not vacant.  No one or thing is going to 'occupy' your body.
The worst that can happen is something can hitch a ride or attach to you but you are always inside your own body.  Your consciousness splits.  That's why sometimes you can't remember dreams or OOBE, because the memories don't 'sync' with your physical consciousness which is asleep.

It was YOUR journey and YOU asked the question after shown the vision. "We" are not the sand, YOU are the sand and YOU where the sand in Egypt at that moment when you asked the question.  "Sand in Egypt" sounds like "fart in a bubble bath" rather than profound, the dragon was amused when she said it.

Don't bring us into it  Tongue There is two parts here, the vision and then your personal interaction with it.

Well here's a thought.   In Genesis 32:12 the descendants of Abraham are described as the sand of the sea.  And there is a dragon in Revelation.   She/He/it maybe is waiting for the chosen one's appearance from Revelation 12.

To Alroyfarms. Well just off the cuff, perhaps your guide was referring to the 'sands of time' - that you are the embodiment of the sands of time -  considering you were time travelling in the fourth dimension and also doing so while in Egypt. Perhaps iit was a metaphor for you to realize that your soul has chosen to reincarnate as matter throughout infinity to experience that which cannot be experienced in the astral plane.

Or, perhaps the guide was trying to teach you that all elements on Earth is energy and you and the sand are the same because not only can sound separate sand particles into designs, so can you separate yourself as evidenced by your success in performing out of body experiences, as well as separating yourself within time.

From AI:

The Great Sphinx of Giza is surrounded by sand that was once part of the Giza Plateau's Mokkatam Formation, a natural limestone formation.

and -

The human body contains many elements, including some that are also found in limestone: Oxygen, Carbon, Calcium, Phosphrous, Sulfur ...

We are all carbon-based lifeforms - most of Earth's matter is carbon-based, but it does appear humans and sand have many similar elements.

As for the "go back to sleep" comment, this implies, to me, confirmation that you were indeed not sleeping.

Just my musings, I hope some of my ideas may help with your path of knowledge.

I am sooo sorry quintessentone! That I missed your reply over the mess of the holidays! I hope you had a wonderful season!

Your insights were awesome and picked at some spots I hadn't considered before in terms of metaphor. It is such a complex metaphor after seeing the replies in this thread, and finally yours!

Yes we share the periodic elements, sands of time, and the geologic malleability of sand. Also consider the father of sleep and dreams, The Sandman himself.

I'd also never considered the vibrational nature of it as shown in your vid. Vibration is everything when it comes to entering an Out Of Body Experience--so much so that I always emphasize Robert Monroe's term 'vibrational state.'

The vibration is acting on us, morphing something in us to facilitate the OOBE, just as the sound vibrations make different patterns in actual sand mandalas. Brilliant!

Yes, I had a wonderful season and I hope you did too.

From the dawn of time, it is said that changing one's vibrational rate will cause different energies and/or youniversal realities.

Wild ride for me just listening and feeling that vibe in my body!
