Who said anything about Russia?
It appears that Putin dreams of a Russia unified under his control, which is turning the Russian econonmy into a medieval batering system for the Russian working class.

Here in the west we get to choose which News media we wish to digest, be that tabloid newspapers, the TV news, or internet sites. We also get to pick which political learning version we wish to 'believe'. The Kremlin now controls all forms media and what it produces, and as I said before their release of mass propaganda makes the west attempts appear feble in comparrison.

I see the Western media as providing every possible form of amplified bias that can exist within the Overton Window of elite acceptability. Occasionally there will surface some truth that cuts through the BS, and for those who look, it stands out as a diamond in the sand. But it is never amplified, and is usually quickly reburied by the stomping feet of the galloping herd of propagandists. Sure, that's "freedom", just as you are free to choose the one healthy item on a supermarket shelf full of poison. When I look at Russian media, it is certainly more homogeneous (although I am perhaps missing its nuance) but it seems more honest.

Smarter than that

You seem to be taking the idea that this is a political gimmick (which it obviously isn't; it's a result of Google repeatedly ignoring a reasonable fine for their censorship), then questioning your own self and building the idea that it isn't a political gimmick at all, but part of some deeper sinister Kremlin plot. It put the image in my mind of you on a football field, grabbing the ball, zooming past your own goalpost, and running into the woods yelling "I win you Commie bastards! I win!" It is kind of hilarious.

So all western media is biased, but Russian media is honest?  Which alternative reality do you live in? It's this outlook I find the most rediculious made by people who supposedly come here to Deny Ignorance...

Russia now has a totalatarian dictator in control, whos' Kremlin now controls all media outlets and you think its' the most honest? Diasgree with what ever the dictator says and you're given flying lessons from hotel windows or disappeared to a gulag.

Are you saying the US doesn’t have the exact same issue?
Yes, Russia is corrupt, so is the US
The democrats stole an election with fraudulent voting machines and you don’t seem to care

If we each must not criticize because "our own house isn't in order," then no one will ever be able to criticize anything.

We keep seeing the phrasing "The US is this" or "Russia is that" as if the very words were somehow weapons.  What I wonder at is this embedded notion that any of it is a representation of the people who live there... when we pretty much seem to agree that it is a person, or group that is making the problem manifest... distinctly NOT American, in general.. and NOT Russians in general... these people will having you fighting each other 'out of context'... it's all Koyaanisqatsi-like.

The standard come back is "you Americans." [or] "You Russians "allow" this to go on"....  so who's in fantasy-land now?

We all know damn-well that it HAS NEVER BEEN the "Americans," or the "Russians," or the "British," or anyone else as a nation or group... it is always just a few people driven by their own demons that make this "global" reality what it is... namely, people dying by the thousands over dirt and "retribution." All the while they fumble with the fact that we are not as stupid as they would have us believe.

I apologize for the potential triggering that might result from saying that in such a manner.

Well said. Some people have no capacity for self reflection.

Would we not be hypocrites though?

I'm not religious but I say 'take the plank out of your own' eye before condemning others.

You can criticise but it might be better if you acknowledge  your own misdeeds beforehand.
