Could be that Russia prepares to ban Google altogether, along with Android and iOS. With progressing internet censorship this is entirely possible.
Why Google, Android and iOS could soon vanish from Russia?

Bit naive to think Russia has just carried this out because they are simple or for a bit of media coverage,
don’t know what or how but, there will be implications
Russia just laid the foundations for a bigger game
Amazing the amount of short sited comments around here

This is obviously a very sad and childish attempt by the Kremlin and Russian courts to 'attack' a western company for removing it's propaganda channels on Youtube, and I see no way Google even acknowledging this laughable fine. Do the members here think this will have any impact on Google and it's future. Once Putin is removed, do you think this will effect Googles future return to Russia?
Russia has fined Google $2,500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, or more money than actually exists on Earth
It all makes sense now...

So this was originally a $1000 per day fine that Google was given by a court because of their censorship of YouTube. It doubled every week until Google complied, which they chose not to. Hence the exponential ridiculousness.

The Kremlin lives for the propaganda and makes the wests attempts look infantile by comparison.
I noticed on ATS that certain members popped up and posted hate filled and angry threads about Britain around certain news events, gullible Russians controlled by a single state controlled media being lead on a crusade against an 'attacking' NATO which they see has controlled by Britain.
By doing this Putin is able to steer all anger away from him and blame the west for all of Russias woes, and not his sad and failing attempts of recreating a forgotten Russian Empire with his invasion of Ukraine.
Russian seized assets are now being handed over to Ukraine by nations that were undecided before, this is another blow to the pockets of the Kremlin rich elite and with massive interest rates, this will have dire effects on an already troubled economy.
I think the comments people are making show most members see Putin for narcistic ego manic he is.....

Funny, prefer Putin over Biden, Kamala, Clinton or any of the other US leaders from the the last 4 years
I am no Russian apologist, not going to deny I respect the way Russia (Putin) has dealt with Ukraine
Be glad if Trump gets in and sorts it out
And I have seen nothing indicating Russia wants the Soviet Empire back, just words from the msm, fake news

I find myself remembering that the 'will' of leaders, is not to be confused with the 'will' of those they lead.
Most wars and aggression (perhaps even all) are the result of the posture and intent of very few.
Putin is not "Russia." Trump, Biden, etc. are not "America."
The antipathy stoked and nurtured by activist journalists and their editors, is not "what people think"... it's what their audience is being told they should think...
Propaganda is a form of cultivation... a form of curation... which would be completely acceptable... as long as the informed audience remains free to think and consider for themselves. Where they are not free, where they are not informed... it takes the form of a disease.
I refuse to be told what "we" think, and I refuse to accept that the utterances of "leaders" can rightly be considered what 'their people' think.
I call attention to the reality that those spewing the most blatant hatred mostly never directly 'participate' in the conflict... they are content watching others pay the price of their 'position' from a position far removed from any danger.

I totally agree.
Here in the west we get to choose which News media we wish to digest, be that tabloid newspapers, the TV news, or internet sites. We also get to pick which political learning version we wish to 'believe'. The Kremlin now controls all forms media and what it produces, and as I said before their release of mass propaganda makes the west attempts appear feble in comparrison.

Still thinking that Putin has an agenda, it’s not just a gimmick for a cheap pop.
Smarter than that
