Trump shot?
(07-15-2024, 07:38 PM)Lysergic Wrote: Why did their response suck?

Probably DEI, they had some short corpulent woman how she suppose to shield someone when she's a short stack?

When the threat was identified on the roof, Trump should have been escorted off stage, well before the shooter had a chance.

They(law enforcement, not SS) knew someone was on the roof with possibly a weapon, why this information was not relayed to the Secret Service immediately shows their response sucked.

Which so happens to be right under that window. THIS is why the FBI washed off the blood (not their job). They want to change the narrative.

All the images I saw with Crooks' body on the roof showed the blood, and it was not close to the window on the other building. One of those images was posted on this thread.

At this point it is all a complete CYA, it will be swept away since Cheeto has resigned, all kinds of ideas, theories, etc like this will be flooded for a week or so, then nothing. So business as usual I guess

There are many senators and congressmen that aren’t letting it die.

Strongly recommend reading the next article. Here’s a snippet:
Quote:After identifying Crooks as a suspicious person, the two officers, situated on the second story of the building located right next to the building Crooks eventually shot from, left their post to search for Crooks on the ground.
Col. Christopher L. Paris, PSP’s commissioner, said he was informed the two officers “were searching alongside other local officers in the immediacy after Crooks had been identified as a suspicious person.”
“Are you then saying from your knowledge that those ESU officers left the location where they could look out the window in search of this person?” Rep. Dan Bishop (R-N.C.) asked Paris.
“Yes, that is my understanding,” Paris responded.

TWO local PD in that window right next to Crooks. BOTH decided to leave their vantage point to pursue him on the ground. Pretty convenient ain’t it. Me thinks that one stayed behind….

I think (now) we may have a tiny fragment of the "real" story.  I've wondered, since the very first report of the 2nd floor window, if the reason for counter-snipers not being on the same roof as the shooter might have been temperature related.  "It's too hot up here!"  Cheatle's testimony about the roof being too sloped is BS...the real reason was it was too 'uncomfortable' for their pretty little backsides.  So, they moved inside where it was nice and cool with air conditioning.

This is the first fragment of information which has come out which makes a little bit of sense.  There's absolutely NO excuse for it, but at least it makes 'some' sense.  Sitting on a hot metal roof in the direct sun, wearing a (likely) black uniform would be very hot indeed.  Anyone who's spent any time on a roof can attest to just how unpleasant it can be.  Wearing dark colored BDU's and a flak jacket would make it all the more unpleasant.  SO....they opted for personal comfort.

I can also somewhat believe they may have left their post (inside in the A/C) to go look for the shooter (and wound up missing him on the roof).  This makes a little sense.  It's totally bad form and bad tactics, but it makes a bit of sense.  They likely received a radio call of a person around or on the building, and not knowing exactly 'which' roof he was on, they went outside to go look for him (not knowing he would have shown up right in front of them had they just stayed where they were).  I can sort of believe this.

I think (now...finally) we are getting 'pieces' of the real story.  It seems to me the ultimate failure is still on the USSS's doorstep.  They failed to coordinate how the local LEO's should respond, and what communication methods would be used.  The local LEO's were just there to be 'bodies' and a 'show of force'.  If they saw something, then great, but the SS was in charge, and they had an intentionally lax protection force by orders from above.  They probably 'hoped' something would happen...and it did.

Both Cheatle and the command element of the force from the SS who showed up on July 13th to protect Trump should be tried in a court of law for reckless disregard of duties and treason.

Their guns are large and not made for close quarters, they wouldn't walk around with them if they are expecting an altercation, and they can't just leave their guns behind. They likely have side arms, but those are not for securing hostile areas. It would make more sense to call for a ground team to investigate.

It just doesn't make sense to leave their post. If a little distraction is all it takes to form a gaping hole in a Secret Service security perimeter... that would be pathetic.

Well, I think it's important to remember we don't really have any concrete information about who actually this 'team' on the 2nd floor really was.  I'm not sure if we even know if they were SS or local LEO's.  And, I'm nearly positive we don't know if they were an actual 'counter-sniper' team, or if they were just some local beat cops who went where they were told.  We've heard rumors that they may have been asked to position themselves on the roof (implying they 'may' have been a counter-sniper team), but we are far from knowing what types of firearms they may have had, or not had, and what they were capable of.

Otherwise, I would agree with your points, but we can't forget we are all struggling to try to get the facts about exactly 'who?, what?, where?, when? and how?'...all while being light years away from understanding the 'why?' component of what happened on July 13th.  So far, the government has thrown up nothing but red herrings, smoke screens, misinformation, disinformation and straight-up lies.  I mean, do we even know what vehicle the shooter was driving??  Like for certain?

Regarding things being "pathetic", the list of things which are unimaginable, incomprehensible, inexcusable and yes, "pathetic" is a very LONG list indeed for this incident.

She gave no specifics on anything, probably because she new she would get drilled on all the conflicting details every time she did.  I've not seen/heard any of these questions answered by Cheatle or anyone else.  All just vague references to people and locations, no specific assignments or types of people, or even who they reported to.
