The 13 biggest SCIENCE LIES you've been told all of your life.

Funnily enough, the holographic principle is one worth entertaining imho.  Saint2

Of all the 13, only the last one is something I have seen mentioned, that the Earth is a spinning globe (more or less).
I have never seen any of the other 12 as statements, only slightly different statements that have slightly different meanings.

For example, there's a difference between saying "weed killers are safe" and "weed killer is safe to eat".

Basically, a useless video.

It’s not that science lies it’s that corporations and individuals twist science and use deception to make bigger profits. For example Monsanto pushing farmers to use Glyphosate a: to dry grain crops (aka kill) to harvest them before any fungus can damage them. The issue with this is Glyphosate remains on the crop and the grains get contaminated with it.
B: it is used with GMO Glyphosate resistant crops so farmers can spray and kill weeds without killing their crops. The GMO might be glyphosate resistant but you aren’t! If this stuff ends up in the water table it’s there forever practically too.

Monsanto was sued for truck loads of money and ended up being bought by Bayer, another giant in making chemicals with a dodgy history.

Big pharma companies have also been sued for millions and made many out of court settlements for the harms they have caused with malpractice. So it was handy that they got to claim indemnity when they rushed out the Covid vaccines…

Many of the drugs we are sold are found in nature only they make chemical analogs so they can be patented and sold for far greater profit.

Common weeds that are good for us include Dandelion root, Dock root, Nettles, and many, many more. If it has “wort” in its name it was traditionally used as some remedy such as Mugwort.

Advertising and Marketing also manipulate our psychology so as to sell us crap, if they don’t outright lie about certain products they use other sneaky tactics to convince us we want it. Back in the day they were done for subliminal messaging in their ads, a type of hypnotic conditioning that bypasses logic and reasoning.

These are all things historically proven, in current times we have whole new techniques of deception, where facts are deliberately mixed with fabrication. This is about taking something truthful that is also harmful to the establishment and mixing in total BS in attempt to get people to reject the truthful part with the trash. I think the flat earth theory is a prime example. A false conspiracy that gets added on to factual ones to tarnish them.
I remember back in the day you used to get mocked just for sighting a YouTube video, these days the platform itself acts as an arbiter of what’s fact and fake, either demonetising or banning outright content that they don’t like. Everyone knows about Twitter/X and the shenanigans that went on there and with the other big social media platforms.

Its all about controlling information, I think the ultimate goal of the intel agencies is to be able to get people to believe black is white and the other way round. With AI in the mix just about anything can be fabricated. No need to have real dirt on someone anymore, they can just make something up and have it seem convincing enough.

I watched the video and my takeaway is that more and/or different approaches to research are needed, such as with turmeric's effectiveness, such as adding black pepper with turmeric which is reported to boost Turmeric's effectiveness by 2000%. Is it then effective in protecting cells from cancer when turmeric's effectiveness is boosted by 2000%?

In other words, the studies need to be scrutinized to determine if the methodology was expansive and/or inclusive enough to take into account other contributing or complimentary factors, such as I mentioned above, turmeric alone vs. turmeric with black pepper.

As for the other science points, well those points require separate threads all their own.

Another thing to consider is there is a big advantage in keeping people sick and dependent on medications, simply because it means more profits. The fundamental bottom line of big businesses. If they actually cured people with cheap fixes that just wouldn’t work in a business model.

Also it’s Curcumin which is the active compound within Turmeric that helps with cancer. Indeed studies have shown that when combined with black pepper it increases the effectiveness by 2000%. Though I would like to see the exact trial that shows this.
What I find odd is I can buy some Turmeric pills that contain high strength Turmeric at 2000mg per pill. The thing is the pills are tiny and it doesn’t say how much black pepper is in there. Where as I can go out and buy some actual Turmeric root plus some actual black pepper corns and mix them together. Surely I’m getting a more potent and effective combo with this method?

Edit to add, it’s a good point you bring up about combinations of various substances, as things do affect other things in either positive or negative ways. Just look at the description on any supplements or meds and it will say not to be taken if you’re on such and such or you have a certain condition. Dosage is very important too. Who was it that said the cure is also the poison when referring to dosage? Anyway it seems a shame that we have just about lost all the old herb law and plant wisdom of the past. When it comes to health the old adages of “prevention is better than cure” and “everything in moderation” are sage advice. The body knows how to heal itself given half a chance too.

Just keep in mind that the body absorbs curcumin poorly.

High doses can cause stomach upset.

And if you are on the likes of blood thinners or diabetes drugs, it can also cause additional issues.

I would like to see the exact trial that also shows "when combined with black pepper, it increases the effectiveness of Curcumin by 2000%."

Because there have been studies that apparently have shown some anti-cancer effects in the lab where reduced cell growth and inflammation are concerned.

Unfortunately, that does not translate into some kind of miracle cure, or stop cancer on its own.

That was my point SurferSoul, I could not find exact studies of turmeric plus pepper, just studies on turmeric that gave a one paragraph insert stating that combined with pepper turmeric's effectiveness is increased 2000% and that's it, nothing further, except what most of the studies say, "that more research is needed".

As for big pharma keeping people on drugs for profit, it's the doctors that write the prescriptions and it is us who have faith in our doctors to accept and take the drugs. I know my doctor believes in the effectiveness of statins from his independent research and observations with patients, so he advocates for his patients to take statins, which we argued about and which I we agreed that I won't take it every day, but 3X per week, then I eventually stopped completely because due to my research I believe the medical community simply don't understand how the body uses cholesterol and therefore IMO they have the wrong end of the stick. (What do you think of my run on sentence? impressive, no?)

I prefer to take children's aspirin now and again...everything in moderation.

Again, as new and rare studies emerge to prove conventional science may have been on the wrong track or have been misguided, it seems some doctors just won't accept anything to the contrary. Ultimately, it's up to us to do our own research and make our own decisions.

The doctors are the givers of drugs because they believe the science, big pharma are the suppliers, boxed in scientific studies are the determining or unquestioned factors because of beliefs or studies geared to have a preconceived result, or from what I'm reading now that these scientists and other collaborators can be are are indeed bribed.

I remember, a long time ago, when I started reading studies how some exploratory scientists stepped out of their boxes and made sideline/accidental discoveries. That never seems to happen these days.

Accidental discoveries: (AI)

  • Microwave Oven:
Percy Spencer, while working on radar technology, noticed a candy bar in his pocket had melted. This led him to realize that microwaves could cook food.
  • Teflon:
A DuPont chemist was working on refrigerants when he discovered a new, non-stick material. The result was Teflon.
  • X-rays:
While experimenting with cathode ray tubes, Wilhelm Roentgen noticed a fluorescent screen glowing, leading to his discovery of a new type of ray that could pass through solid objects.
  • Velcro:
George de Mestral invented Velcro after going for a walk and noticing that burrs clung to his clothes and his dog's fur. He then examined the burrs under a microscope to see the hooks that allowed them to attach so firmly.
  • Safety Glass:
A French chemist accidentally dropped a flask, but it didn't shatter. It turned out that the flask had contained a layer of plastic that was applied to the inside, which held the glass together when it broke.
  • Super Glue:
A scientist at Eastman Kodak was trying to develop a clear plastic for gun sights, but the chemical he was using proved too sticky. He later realized that this substance, known as cyanoacrylate, could be useful as an adhesive.
  • Saccharin:
A chemist at Johns Hopkins University, while working on coal tar derivatives, accidentally discovered a new compound that was hundreds of times sweeter than sugar.
  • Vulcanized Rubber:
Charles Goodyear accidentally dropped a mixture of rubber, sulfur, and lead onto a hot stove, creating a durable, non-melting material that became vulcanized rubber
  • Penicillin:
Alexander Fleming accidentally discovered the first antibiotic when he returned from vacation to find mold inhibiting bacteria in a petri dish.

@Andy. Yeah that’s where no black pepper comes in to help with absorption. I did do an edit to my last post mentioning drug combos and various side effects. Speaking of which Turmeric isn’t effective on its own even with black pepper, but throw in some of this stuff:

Turkey Tale
Cordeceps
Chaga
Ginger
Garlic
Apricot Kernel's
Soursop tea or juice
Green tea
Dandelion root
Canabis not just CBD but other compounds in the plant
Wormwood

Thats the chemistry sorted but it’s also very important to have the right mental attitude. Look at the Placebo/Nocebo effects, what you believe really matters.

I was just discussing the placebo effect with my son and the proof is in the pudding, or rather in a blood test or other testing after the fact, I said.

Seems to me that "Big Pharma" is arguably a necessary evil in today's world.

At least until our respective societies find a model that rewards innovation without exploiting human health for profit.

Take away our ability to produce pharmaceuticals on a massive scale, and there goes the likes of antibiotics, antivirals, vaccines, immunosuppressants, insulin, and blood thinners.

Organ transplants and a lot of other surgeries would be impossible without "Big Pharma" and the products they produce.

Millions of people across the globe would die and/or have their quality of life severely curtailed.
