Pretty much, but the last Pope Leo built the Vatican Observatory and embraced science instead of putting Galileo on lifetime house arrest. Which cleared the way for The Big Bang Theory decades later to come from a priest/cosmologist. So the namesake is kind of  encouraging.

That Pope Leo is not this Pope Leo, just saying. I just don't see any encouragement here with the same backward ideologies being reiterated.

Edited to add ... tv news reporting that he was a registered republican while living in Chicago, he's been very vocally opposed in media to the current (TRUMP) administration, and he's very much in favor to big open immigration.
