Hageman did pretty well with him.

The best of the day was actually my own district congressman Brandon Gill.
31 years old, not a lawyer, in office only 1 year so far.

The link is a video of a five minute destruction of Jack Smith..

GILL: "In January of 2023, did you subpoena Kevin McCarthy's toll records?"

SMITH: "We did."

GILL: "How many days after Kevin Mccarthy was sworn in as speaker did you subpoena his records?"

SMITH: "I don't recall but those two things had nothing to do with one another."

GILL: "16 days after becoming the highest ranking Republican in the House of Representatives, you subpoenaed his toll record. Do you think it might be a violation of the debate or speech clause?"

SMITH: "I do not."

GILL: "At the time you secured those non-disclosure orders, was Speake McCarthy a flight risk?"

SMITH: "He was not."

GILL: "Why did your non-disclosure order refer to him as a flight risk. It says right here that the court finds reasonable grounds to believe that such disclosure will result in flight from prosecution."

"I think you are using clearly in reference to speaker McCarthy, and you were using clearly false information to secure a non-disclosure order to hide from speaker McCarthy and from the American people the fact that you were spying on his toll records. I have more, so let's move on."

I wish he was my district congressman.  He’s extremely articulate and intelligent.    I’ve seen him destroy people with common sense.    I actually follow the guy on FB.

But yes, he made Smith look guilty as hell.

Gill utterly destroyed that fraud Smith...DESTROYED HIM.

This is the kind of shit that got some of Smith's previous cases tossed because of fishing expeditions and playing loose with the law.

That asshole should be locked up.

What previous cases would that be?

He's always over stepped his prosecutorial boundaries.

2012 Sen John Edwards...acquitted.
2016 Gov Robert McDonnell...conviction overturned by the Supreme Court.
2017 Sen Bob Menendez...mistrial.

And then Trump's cases...all tossed out.

He's a piece of shit.

Quote:History of Jack Smith's courtroom smackdowns after landmark loss in Trump immunity case

"I think a big problem is that prosecutors in general often overcharge, partially because it puts a lot of pressure on defendants to accept a plea deal," John Shu, a constitutional attorney who served in both Bush administrations, told Fox News Digital.

"Jack Smith long has had a reputation, both at (the Eastern District of New York) and main Justice, of being a hyper-aggressive prosecutor. What makes him unusual is that he seems willing to overstretch the meaning and intent of the law in order to meet his conviction and high sentencing goals."

Prior to the Supreme Court's rulings in the Trump-related cases this term, Smith has incurred more than one high-profile loss.

Most notably, in 2016, he scored a conviction against former Virginia Gov. Robert McDonnell on corruption charges. But that conviction was unanimously overturned in an 8-0 ruling by the Supreme Court.

"There is no doubt that this case is distasteful; it may be worse than that. But our concern is not with tawdry tales of Ferraris, Rolexes, and ball gowns. It is instead with the broader legal implications of the Government’s boundless interpretation of the federal bribery statute," the court wrote.

The court in that decision warned that the "uncontrolled power of criminal prosecutors is a threat to our separation of power."

In 2012, Smith charged and prosecuted John Edwards, a former senator and Democratic vice presidential candidate, a prosecution Smith decisively lost. Jurors voted to acquit Edwards of several felony violations of federal campaign finance laws.

In 2017, Smith prosecuted Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., on public corruption charges, which resulted in a mistrial.

I find your personal opinion extremely biased. I’ll skip that.

So — he lost more than one. How many has he won?

I will research your info.

You do that.

Looks like he won a couple minor cases.

He's lost all the "big fish" cases due to his overzealous charging.

While specific numbers of all wins aren't easily tallied, Smith is known as a highly accomplished career prosecutor with a strong record of successful prosecutions in varied, complex settings before his current role.
