Its like a UK thing that I really really want now but im going to have to make my own im afraid. Onions, apples, prunes, brown sugar, spices *cinnamon etc*, and malt vinegar seems to be the recipe. Think Id like to try to make it with a pear puree instead of an apple prune.

Thanks for the lesson!

Sounds like A1 sauce

Dates, not prunes, molasses, tamarind, mustard powder, allspice and cinnamon, and Worcester sauce too.  Pears sound good.
'l'll just check my Giveashitometer....Nope.  Nothing...

It is like A1 sort of but thicker and maybe with a few other things like tamarind. Dad's or HP can often be found in that weird section of the supermarket.

The steaksauce? I dont think that has the sweetness of what im imagining this brown sauce is. A1 definitely has the tang though. Apparently this brown sauce is used in breakfast stuff a lot.

Probably the closest to UK Brown Sauce in the US I think is Heinz 57 Sauce, even though I don't remember English Brown Sauce having some of the same ingredients.

https://www.heinz.com/products/00013000008020-57-sauce

Ingredients:

Tomato puree (tomato paste, water), high fructose corn syrup, malt vinegar, lea & perrins worcestershire sauce (distilled white vinegar, molasses, water, sugar, salt, onions, anchovies, garlic, cloves, tamarind extract, natural flavorings, chili pepper extract), distilled white vinegar, salt, modified food starch, contains less than 2% of the following: raisin juice concentrate, mustard flour, caramel color, soybean oil, turmeric, spices, apple puree, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate (preservatives), garlic powder, onion powder, natural flavors.

OC2, looks similar to your home recipe.
