Zelenskyy "I am ready to stop the war in exchange for NATO membership, even if the Russian Federation does not immediately return our captured territories"-Sky News.
His mind was not for rent to any god or government, always hopeful yet discontent. Knows changes aren't permanent, but change is ....

Ukraine is in no unilateral position to declare that it can "stop the war."

The lust for Ukrainian NATO membership is what may well have ignited this war in the first place.

He may have well have stated that he would "stop the war" as long as Russia withdraws from Ukraine... we know that's not likely to happen.   The Russian's permanent  military presence in the sea would demand otherwise.

NATO is apparently "looking" to pressure the West... a win is a win.

Quote:The president said that the Ukraine-controlled part of the country could be offered NATO membership to end the "hot phase of the war", provided that the invitation to the Alliance recognises Ukraine's internationally recognised borders.

That seems somewhat unrealistic.

Average age on the Ukranian front line is now around 46.

Quote:From 1 January 2025, all men aged 18 to 25 will have to undergo military training in Ukraine.

Quote: "Citizens between the ages of 18 and 25 must be given basic and professional training," Tymochko said.

He specified that this is not about mobilisation but basic training for everyone.

"This is the training of people who will have basic and professional skills in weaponry and choosing a speciality. That is, they will know how the army lives and breathes in order to allay many fears and, at the same time, to have a prepared population. This is the right approach," said the head of the Council of Reservists of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This will come in handy during the upcoming civil war.
