YouTube to Pay $24.5M
#1
Quote:Alphabet-owned YouTube has agreed to pay $24.5 million to settle a lawsuit that President Donald Trump brought against the company over the suspension of his account following the January 2021 U.S. Capitol breach, a court filing showed on Monday.
The deal makes Google the last of the three big tech companies to resolve lawsuits Trump brought in July 2021 accusing them of unlawfully silencing conservative viewpoints.
Trump had also sued Twitter, now known as X, and Facebook owner Meta, as well as Alphabet's Google, and their chief executives in July 2021.
Meta and X agreed earlier this year to pay to settle the lawsuits.
Under the YouTube settlement, $22 million will be paid on Trump's behalf to the Trust for the National Mall, a nonprofit that the filing says is dedicated to the construction of a $200 million ballroom that Trump is building at the White House.
Work on the 90,000-square-foot (8361.27 square meters) facility is expected to be completed "long before" Trump's four-year term ends in January 2029.
The remaining amount will go to other plaintiffs in the case, including the American Conservative Union, which sponsors the Conservative Political Action Conference, and U.S. author Naomi Wolf.

I admit I use youtube for news and entertainment probably on a daily basis but there censorship rules and the suck up to China by defunding providers who are critical of the CCP tells me where their monetary loyalties really are.  Some people at yourube need to be removed for being  stupid control freaks IMO.

Trump is getting richer suing these jerks.
I love it LOL

So much for that insurance policy.

He’s spending it on the White House too.
Best president ever.

Calling a spade a spade, get over it.

They are more than welcome to come prove me wrong. Join a thread that is not bashing Trump and not take it off topic. Bet they can't and won't

I however, think it was a great thing for Trump to initiate this and hold people accountable for the blatant censorship

What I want to know is who is Alphabet? They own google and its subsidiaries and have censored the crap out of all kinds of YouTube channels besides just conservative ones as well as google search content. What’s their agenda? Who’s deciding what they do and don’t allow?

I've read that most companies find it easier to just pay off Trump and have done with it, so that does not mean Trump was right, it just means companies just want to end his nonsense or stay on the good side of him.

"The exact motivations for ABC's decision to settle will never be fully known, as they were deliberated on inside of the company. At the time, though, ABC's settlement seemed to set a precedent for other media companies that they should work to stay on the good side of the president, even if that meant giving him some money."

Why Did ABC Pay Trump $15 Million?

My point is that YouTube paying $24 Million is chump change to get Trump off their backs - doesn't mean they were wrong at the time.

You mean replacing the grass in the rose garden with a limestone paver path? All of the existing rose bushes and other plants were left in tact.

Not quite "paving over the rose garden", but not exactly what I would have done either.

White house looks better than it ever has and it's about to get a whole lot better. You may laugh but only you and the wall next to you care. Speaking as an actual citizen of the United States I love what he has done and plans to do with the white house. It'll be posh you'll see.
