Jesus Christ, man, this is amazing work.   The heavy-handed brush strokes are reminiscent of the masters.   Your prose is magnificent.  I feel I'm in the presence of greatness.

This is very inspiring to me personally so thank you for sharing it. In a different lifetime I fancied myself a poet. Hehehehehehe. Maybe you are inspiring me to try this again. Crippling fear of failure aside!  Not that I could POSSIBLY come close to the level of talent you have shown here both in your painting which is sublime and prose which reminds me somewhat of the longing nature of Pablo Neruda's work.

To me I just draw it out in my head and paint it. I write words to go with it. 

The practice makes it better each time. Many years!

If I may wander slightly off-topic, I want to tell you this.   You know what the greatest fear is?   The fear of not having stepped up, the regret of not having pushed your own limits.   Failure = important data/variables, which helps you to refine your experience.   Think about how you learned to ride a bicycle.  Did you hop on and ride like the wind?   Hell no!  You fell off just like all the rest of us, and probably caused some part of your body to bleed.   But you learned, and achieved a skill.

I hope I don't sound preachy.   I am always trying to take my own advice.   It is easy for me to waste a day watching tv.  Sometimes that isn't a day wasted.   When I feel like playing the guitar, I do it, and sometimes even when I don't. 

If you know  Pablo Neruda, then you know how to write conversationally, and see the small things, the wonderful details in everyday things.   Things that most of us take for granted.  

I look forward to enjoying your works.   No pressure.

Your painting has so much texture, it's like I can reach out and grab it.   Do you use any tissue layering or anything like that, or is all that just pure you?  Wonderful.
