Wireless Festival Cancelled After Kanye West Blocked From Coming To UK

This summer's Wireless Festival has been cancelled after headliner Kanye West was blocked from coming to the UK.
The government refused permission for West, now known as Ye, to travel to the UK after backlash to his planned set at the London festival this summer.
For the last several years, West has caused outrage for a string of antisemitic, racist and pro-Nazi comments.
In a statement, Wireless Festival said it was cancelled and refunds would be issued to all ticket holders. It added that "multiple stakeholders" had been consulted ahead of booking West, "and no concerns were highlighted at the time".
It continued: "Antisemitism in all its forms is abhorrent, and we recognise the real and personal impact these issues have had.

The decision to block Kanye West from entering the country is a firm stand against hate, imho.

The man's repeated antisemitic, racist, and pro-nazi statements cannot simply be brushed aside in the name of free expression or entertainment.

And his insincere apologies and attempts at reconciliation cannot erase years of the hate-filled antisemitic madness he chose to spew forth from his puss. 

People who openly promote hate, even under the guise of art or celebrity, should not be allowed to use the UK as a stage for spreading poison.

Aside from the obvious reasons for banning Kanye West, I am shocked that they have microphones at a Wireless Festival. I mean that is pre radio. Code keys, coherer tubes, spark gap transmitters. I would love to see it but with modern radio laws, no one could transmit.

Hopefully, they return next year with somebody headlining that's less of a Nazi.

Is he really a guy who is hateful?
Or is he just unhinged.
Can someone who is unhinged still be hateful in their core?
Yes.   But not necessarily so.
What you call 'insincere apologies' could be periods of sanity in an insane mind.
What he has said about his exwife and his children is horrid.
Blasting her for being a white woman raising his black kids .... his words not mine.
And he does senseless things .. like that Malibu beach house being gutted and left.

He's obviously a guy in desperate need of mental health care.
Probably medication.   Probably in facility treatment long term.
He's either not getting any help or what he's getting isn't working.

Blocking him from being in front of crowds is a good thing.
I know ... free speech ... he should be able to say what he wants.
BUT ... I'm talking about it being a good thing for him.
Crowds cheering him only fuels his delusions and the mental illness.
He needs a very quiet place and medication .... 'in facility' care.   
And I don't mean for just a week or two.

That's my armchair ... random person on the internet ... irrelevant ... observation.

Kanye is indeed complicated.

Mental health issues are no joke, and it's obvious he requires some serious help.
 
But unhinged people can still be harmful.
 
It's not so much the free speech as opposed to his hate speech, he punts, that's problematic.

Taking away his soap box is probably for the best until he seriously gets his act together and atones for his actions, if thats at all possible. 
 
I see that he's changed the song titled "Gas Chambers" to "All The Love."

Not quite sure how that works, but it's a start, I suppose...

It is a good stand Andy and more needs doing as life for people of Jewish faith in Britain is getting intolerable. We have the new internet this giving rise to neo Nazis targeting Jewish people all over the UK. It's crazy and something straight out of Crystalnight in the 30's. Then the second prong is the mass immigration from Muslim countries that are targetting Jews likewise on the streets. It's crazy mate, years ago Jews were fine and could wear their garb yet now it can be life threatening to wear it, they are going underground. Or emigrating. I see no hope for British Jewry as Islamics take over our cities progressively, and the internet links up the sicko Nazi types young lads and lasses who now don't even go to work and look for something to get involved with and use their energies on. Black shirts are everywhere, you see them in all the towns and city centres. 

Maybe the Heradim will survive just because of the number of kids they have in London, Manchester. Everywhere else reform, normal orthodox are fleeing.

Do you know Orby, i don't know any Jewish people in Glasgow, im sure there are plenty, i just don't personally know any now.

My grandparents' next-door neighbour was Jewish, tattoos and all, and a survivor of the camps, but he died in the 90s.

As to Glasgow being beautiful, some of it i suppose.

But it might be nice if they emptied the bins more.
