And if you would like you can download and run a local LLM on your laptop or PC and not have the internet to interact with it. It takes just a couple of minutes to install and just a few more to grab one of the hundreds of AI models to run locally on your PC or server or even phone.

Let me try to understand your explanation.

Can I equate downloading a local LLM on my laptop as being sort of like an encyclopedia source where the information/data remains static in time because it does not have the internet to pull more data/updated information, but it can only pull new data from what I decide to give it (with perhaps all the misinformation and disinformation a person wants to believe as truth)?

If so, I would not want that scenario because I want all the information humanly and AIly possible to access at my finger tips.

A lot of LLM's are contained to what they know. There are all a large file of weights and nodes. As for how all these new AI features evolve once they have permission is more hazy. How would any intelligence go when it can access the internet, write files and manage bank accounts?
