Vatican Cracks Down on Illegals
#1
The country of The Vatican (yes, it's a country) has decided to crack down on illegals coming into it's territory.

Pope Francis has spent years and years calling on all countries to accept all illegals.  Pope Francis is anti-borders.

Can you say HYPOCRISY!?!?

In a decree issued last month by the Holy See, the monetary sanctions and prison sentences for those who violate the strict security regulations of Vatican City have been considerably increased. The document, signed by Cardinal Fernando Vérguez Alzaga, president of the Pontifical Commission for Vatican City State, provides for monetary fines ranging from 10,000 to 25,000 euros (about $10,200 to $25,700) and prison sentences ranging from one to four years.

Wow, is ok, to have invaders come to the countries but is not ok when they invade the space of the privilege.

Is not charity when it comes to privilege.

Soo the Vatican when from been a city to be a country, how convenient.

Your post is widely misleading.

You should quote the complete headlines of both articles. Here, I will do it for you: "The Vatican City State has toughened sanctions for those who try to illegally enter its territory in areas where free access is not allowed."

Anyone, and I mean ANYONE, can enter into the Vatican's territory, without the need of a passport, a visa, or even your baptism certificate (/end sarcasm).

What the articles and the decree you mention provide, is that those who enter areas that are forbidden for free access, will be sanctioned. -as would be the case in any other country. Americans can not freely enter the Pentagon or the Capitol (unless its January 6, 2020 and you have a red hat, of course), as these are restricted areas.

It's the same in the Vatican. Anyone can cross the "border" between Rome and the Vatican and enter Saint Peter's Basilica, admire the Sistine Chapel (provided you buy a ticket) or walk along the Vatican's walls, but you cannot enter some of its gardens, the Cardinal's College or the Pope's bedrooms, as those are restricted areas. The decree only provides harsher penalties for those who enter those off the public areas.

Nothing to see here. Move along.
There is one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind.

Honestly, these read more like the strictest trespassing laws on the planet.

It's kinda like using the logic "The Vatican has 19,000 immigrants a day" because that's the average number of Museum visitors. There really are no immigrants to Vatican City. Only clergy can be residents, and claiming "sanctuary" like a hunchback isn't recognized by international law.

Looking into it they included airspace and drones, so maybe they have a drone problem?

It's more like a giant park that is also a sovereign nation and this is the new penalty The Vatican imposes for not staying on the correct path, or trying to jump the wall when closed to tourists.

It does seem a bit hypocritical that they've decided to be so harsh. But Vatican City has the 3rd highest overall crime rate in Europe because of all the shitbag criminals from Rome targeting pilgrimage tourists, so maybe it's more about that?

Rome in general has most of its crime in the tourist areas. Mostly theft, mugging, and scam artists.

Things that stick out about Rome.

"Hey this is like Vegas with all the street artists."

"A lot of people offering timeshares."

"That's a lot of Graffiti."

No.  It's dead on accurate.
Pope Francis goes around the world demanding that all countries take in all illegals.
But his own country doesn't allow that.  Period.
There is restricted access to his country.
It's called hypocrisy.
