Its International Hug A Hawaiian Day.

14th Feb 1779 the good people of Hawaii  executed an illegal immigrant pedo who tried to kidnap an 8 year old girl.
I was not here.

No, I don't believe in animal sacrifice so I don't celebrate this holiday,
I know too much and question everything.
Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?

I had to look it up and, yup, nasty goings on with those Roman priests inventing ritualistic blessings where somebody (only women) or some animal ended up getting hurt and/or killed. But during the Middle Ages, believe it or not, with the help of Shakespeare and Chaucer helped change that but the red (blood) and white (milk soaked wool used to wipe the blood off the knife that killed the animals) colors remain.

I'm buying my wife a tiramisu and having a romantic dinner.

Biggrin
You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.
