Trump to withdraw from the WHO
#1
Trump, video in link, says: WHO nothing but a globalist scam paid for by the USA And run by China!
Twitter video link
Quote:President Trump has decided to withdraw the USA from the World Health Organisation and the Pandemic Preparedness Treaty, criticising them as corrupt entities that threaten free speech and national sovereignty. Our nation should consider taking similar action.

I’m loving it!

15% paid for by the USA.

It will save almost 400,000,000! That's almost as much as Musk made off DOGE coin yesterday.

Is this really about the drop in pail annual funding (as opposed to the CDC 11.8 billion.) to the WHO? Or is this a carryover from June, 2020, when he did this the first time?

Which basically was a business negotiation against Chinese influence. His diplomacy can't shut off the CEO, and as it was then, this is more about swinging the American dick around.

I don't get it though. If China WANTS to use the WHO to advance their globalist agenda and dominate even health science, why are we pulling out of the treaties and giving them what they want? Which is more control in Geneva. We're going to counter their authoritative expansionalism with autocratic isolationism that puts them at a diplomatic advantage even with our tariffs. Like using our globally perceived anti-science arrogance to look better. It's like willingly taking a back seat and letting them become a globalist superpower of tomorrow while we delusionally go back in time to when we still were.

Like China is really saying (with sarcastic tonal markers), "Oh No, prease don't isorate yourself from the grobal stage, America. No, prease stop!"

Are we gonna put up a perimeter of razor wire and turn the country into an amalgam of people that live on ultra fortified zealot compounds?

He'll definitely pull from all climate accords, and possibly NATO on similar grounds. They're all paying up now, so he'll need a new angle.

Just promise this is one of the few times in world History that an autarky doesn't lead to ultranationalism or imperialism.

Climate accords : AFUREA!
Nato (I hope) : AFUERA!
Aid to foreign countries : AFUERA!

Good things to me.

We don’t need to be the world police. Or fund all these nations.

WHO, NATO, Carbon Credit scheme, even at least half of the "foreign aid" money is given to facilitate and expand private commerce, and capital ventures.
There are many abuses therein.

However, the idea of the US being the "police of the world" is hyperbolic.

We live in the world.
We cannot prosper or function as an isolated entity for very long.
There is a balance that could be as beneficial as we would want it to, without having to kowtow to commerce as a form of religious pursuit, or becoming the isolationists hyperbolic activists proclaim we would be.

The abovementioned entities are all common in that they represent hundreds of billions of dollars in private interests.
They wish the continuity of governments, because most of them are "in" government... so it works out that no speaks of a world without their 'authority.'
In their minds, there simply can't be another way.
They've hired enough experts to make it seem so.

I have this discussion with my other libertarian friends.  There is a lot of variation from someone like me who’s more isolationist to other individuals who are full on "we need to protect our currency/ world police."

i think we should focus on domestic oil and production. Get the heck out of Europe and the Middle East.

Help with Japan, Philippines, and Taiwan as China tries to be very aggressive … But other than that… nah.

we need to fix our infrastructure and manufacturing.

we are broke and deeeeeeeeep in debt. Which can easily spiral into very troubling times.

Isolationism scares me. I am a globalist. Neoliberalism globalist actually.

Quote:Neoliberalism is often associated with a set of economic liberalization policies, including privatization, deregulation, consumer choice, globalization, free trade, monetarism, austerity, and reductions in government spending.

I politically align with Trump WAY THE HELL more than I do the left. It's his move away from globalization that bugs me. It's the unsettling feeling of how he approaches it. I like being part of the world.

I'm all for reduction in foreign war funding, and even can stomach killing the climate accords for immediate needs. Warmer oceans don't necessarily mean more hurricanes.

But it's the move away from the free market. Musk made a killing off the incentivized "green" free market. And half of all Teslas are made in Shanghai. China supplies the manufacturing for a long time now. Not their fault they can undercut our costs. Blame the glory of capitalism. They make almost all our phones now too. Are those going up 60% with the China tafiffs? $1600 iPhones? It is intertwined in the grand outsourced web of it all.

Pulling out of climate accords in one thing, but NATO is like putting up metaphorical blackout curtains and cultivating an arsenal. We gonna only watch the outside world through black and white CCTV screens, and shoot anything that crosses the perimeter?

What we are collectively choosing really sends a screwed up message to the world.

"Yeah, we're changing course now. So after all our years of global presence we are done. Your all on your own and fuck your climate beliefs, we don't need you anymore. We will also be taxing all your foreign crap that we no longer want 20%-60%."

It's counterproductive to what I consider the best part of globalism and capitalism. It will drive a stake between us and the world and force everyone in the USA to buy sometimes inferior domestic crap. Foreign importers will just stop doing business with us.

My deepest sympathies.

Hope we in the US return to a strong nation state focused on liberty.
