They're guilty of not looking too closely, and making an overly circumspect statement that one could easily foresee would be misinterpreted. But that's not a crime. Or even, provably, professional misconduct.
Presenting intelligence that is selectively analyzed and interpreted and laundered through a compliant press to reach a particular conclusion is a tactic that has all the earmarks of a UKUSA misinformation campaign.
Everyone know this. The players and the played alike. It's all kayfabe.
