Aren't they all just keeping the show going?

There is no way they will ever cease this "method" of "modern journalism"...  they insist we can neither see through, nor passed the 'higher thinking' they bask in.

I recall saying that I feared the media's only winning move is to turn the next four years into an inflammatory reality TV show... and so far, I'm not encouraged.

Yes it really is Max. The word I'm going to keep repeating is "kayfabe". It's from professional wrestling (ha!) and it exactly describes what is going on.

It's when the performers know the script is fake, and the audience knows the script is fake, and the performers know the audience knows, but everyone must just keep pretending, because that what is expected, entertaining, and brings in the dollars.

It started as a code-word. Whenever a performer was out of character, and a fan was around unbeknownst to them, one of the other players would whisper "kayfabe!" as a heads-up to get back in character.

We are now in an era of political kayfabe. We know it's BS, they surely know we know, but no one really has any alternative other than to keep the masks on and the folding chairs swinging. Even Trump is kayfabe -- he's their best answer to the dilemna, a phony outsider populist, bought and paid for by his donors and ego.

On the outside looking in this is like the left trying to make a law justifying all their questionable whiney azzhole actions and reactions over the last 8-9 years.

For the moment he had shut his ears to the remoter noises and was listening to the stuff that streamed out of the telescreen. It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grammes a week. Okay, now they've just given up the pretense and have abandoned any tags:

Edit to note: Yes, the autopen thing is bullshit. But the bullshit about it being bullshit is bullshit too.

The thing about the autopen ... some of the autopen documents signed were done so while Biden was out of town at the beach.  The place of signature says DC and has his autopen ... but he was in Delaware at the time of signature.

And he was obvious unaware of what was going on.  He claimed that he hadn't signed documents that clearly had his signature on them ... he claimed this to Speaker Johnson.

So yeah ... ALL his autopen signature documents should be challenged in court.   

Biden wasn't in charge for the four years he was in office.   Some shadowy far left conglomerate was.

I prescribe to Flyer's Fan and the well-known it's not ever as good as it seems nor is it ever as bad as it seems.

As for Trump and his triumphant return heralding the burning of Washington DC's bureaucratic bloat and inefficiency, along with his terrifying tariff trade war is nothing but ripping off the bandaid allowing America to air its grievances. Domestic and internationally it was long overdue, and Im not sure we have a historical precedent here, but this is rare AF.  We are all spitballing on what the outcome may or may not be.   


All of this is unchartered territory for historians and economists alike.
