So incredibly bummed out right now.   KISS was the band that made me say “I want to do that”, that was 50 years ago.   Like thousands of others Ace had a lot of influence on me, he was the ultimate rockstar to me and bigger than life.  Very sad to hear of his passing.  RIP and Godspeed Ace,  you’re a legend and will be missed dearly.
Apparently I’m in cult now, someone here told me so.

I used to work for a vendor at an open air venue and stopped to watch him do a guitar check on stage. He pointed at me and the other guy standing with me and then security came and ran us off, lol that was a fun day.

Kiss was the band that made me want to start playing an instrument when I heard Detroit Rock City for the first time when I was 10 years old.

Started out with guitar, but quickly switched to drums, much to the dismay of my parents because of the noise factor lol.

RIP Ace.

RIP Ace! Do you remember in 1996 they played at Tigers Stadium. I think they opened their world tour here.

2023 their last show was at Little Caesars area.

I think I saw them live 4 or 5 times.

I remember the first time in 1977 at Cobo Hall for the Rock and Roll Over tour, my older brothers took me because I was only 11 years old.

I would have to dig out my ticket stubs to know the rest of the times I saw them.
I still have most of the stubs from every concert I've seen.

I was 6 in 1977. That is awesome you saw them five times. I saw them once. A great show!

I think we’re close to the same age. I remember playing KISS Alive over and over while looking at the concert pics on the album and thinking that’s it, that’s what I want to do.  Got a guitar a few years later, GIT a few years after that and off to the races. LOL.

Really sad to lose a legend like him. He had that no frills rawness to his style and tone which I love.  He also wrote some monster riffs that will always stand the test of time.
