When I was a kid in the 1970's, I remember a news report about an archeologist that had measured points on numerous ancient human skulls. They had used a CAD program to visualize how these points had moved over the millennia, as humans evolved, animating the evolution of the skulls.
The news picked up the story, because as they reported it, the archeologist had accidentally left the computer program running overnight. By the time they got back to it, CAD had 'evolved' the points on the skull far, far into the future and what was visualized looked like the skull of a gray alien. I remember the news anchor somewhat humorously intimating this might prove 'aliens' are us visiting from the future.
Does anyone else remember this?
I've searched online and could find nothing. Maybe it was something I didn't understand as a kid, like satire comedy. Would be interesting to revisit that old news report if it's still out there.
