If you like beef in any shape or form you aren't nuts. And I'm similar with cereal in that I usually add a tiny bit of milk bit by bit to avoid soggy cereal. I like "Weetabix" with just butter on. Makes a mess all over the place as it explodes when bitten but kinda fun even if a little dry. I also used to eat "Shreddies" one at a time and scrape them on butter to add a little each time.
Amazing how diverse our eating habits can be. No wonder Aliens may be afraid to make contact, we will confuse the hell out of them endlessly.

OMG so cool I thought Id never hear about another family eating chocolate sauce and butter biscuits. LOL we called it "chocolate stuff" it was so damn good. Anytime we had our friends over Mom would make it and multiple times she had to give out the recipe to our friends Mom's.
There's an art to it though it isn't exact syrup or even melted chocolate.
So funny this makes me want to make it again soon. 2-3 biscuits, butter, a few spoonfuls of chocolate stuff and a glass of milk.
I can get a close facsimile but it isn't near as good as Mom's and her biscuits were fire too, so damn good, almost crunchy on the outside but so soft and moist inside.
We did stewed potatoes too, a lot
we called it potato soup and we had Mom's biscuits instead of cornbread.
Speaking of bacon, fry up some bacon remove the grease, and set the bacon aside Then sautee chopped onions, a little garlic a healthy drained can of chopped clams a squeeze of lemon juice then do your stewed potato soup. Top with a little bacon and some Old Bay. It's really really good and so inexpensive, add a few cheddar garlic biscuits and it's a meal and a half.

You guys really know how to make my appetite crave all this wonderful food. Amazing!
"Biscuit" used to be one of my nicknames at school.
Speaking of which.....I actually liked school dinners. Especially the really overcooked salty pork sausages and every colour of sponge pudding and custard you can think of. Vegetarians got a lump of Cheddar.

I swear I think my mom was the only person in the county that knew how to cook the chocolate stuff! She made it 2 different ways one with flour that was thick but I preferred the thin with very little flour! You're right about the biscuits too. A little crunchy on the outside but soft, moist, and loaded with butter! I like the thin chocolate stuff because it melted the butter faster…lol
Now you’ve made me hungry! I may try the clam & potatoes this weekend! It sounds delish!!!

That's positively hilarious Im going to have to tell my family somebody else does "chocolate stuff" too. Im not sure if Mom used flour or not, she may have because my attempt was just cocoa powder, milk, sugar a little butter, and simmer till it thickens, which takes a while and you have to be careful or you will scorch it.
I tried it one time with HungryJack biscuits and was a bit disappointed. Sometime soon I'll try again but I think im going to use this instead...

As a kid, I loved homemade chili. I still do to this day, and have several servings in our freezer. It's my goto comfort food. We would ride inflated truck tubes down hills, and eat copious amounts of chili and drink hot chocolate, while the adults had stiffer beverages and laugh as we bounced off the surfaces of the Earth and yet somehow survived.
As a kid, growing up on the Salmon River in Salmon, Idaho, I loved fresh Salmon for breakfast, with fried morel mushrooms. We can occasionally get a side of salmon that is decent, but the mushrooms are a distant memory.
As a kid, my Mom made fried mush for breakfast, and I have adopted her recipe, which must be made the night before and refrigerated, before frying.
As a kid, I loved venison. Venison steaks, venison jerky, pemmican made from venison and stored away in little kid pockets to fortify oneself on my daily journeys into the unknown. Sadly, there is no venison in my world today, and probably none in the future.
As a kid I loved fresh peas. Nothing better, except maybe fresh asparagus picked off the ditchbanks. Neither are present in my current world.
At school, I loved the dried out spaghetti which was ever present in our world. I wish I could replicate that semi-crusty spaghetti, and have tried to no avail many times to replicate it.
I grew up eating fried bologna. I still love it. It is the same substances as hot dogs, just flattened out.
I grew up eating homemade jerky. We carried it and pemmican around when we were on our journeys. I still make that as my in between meals snack. It is good stuff.

Let me know if it's good, please.....I'm betting it will be tasty! As for biscuits, this is a little odd, lol, my mom made delicious homemade biscuits but she preferred the cheap biscuits that came in the green container with her chocolate stuff. I think it was because the cheap ones got crispy on the bottom better. They were good, but so were her homemade! I like the Mary B's frozen biscuits. To me they are perfect in size and fluffiness but also get crispy on the bottom. Some, like Grands, are too fluffy and doughy.
My sister laughed her ass off when I told her about this thread and how I knew someone else that ate chocolate gravy. She really doesn't understand forums like this and threads. (she barely knows how to turn her pc on) anyway the first thing she asked was "where are they from? Has to be the south....lol".
Have you ever heard of making the chocolate stuff with water instead of milk? My aunt made it with water and it was good but more like hot, thin icing

Don't get me wrong LOL I still had 4 HungryJack biscuits slathered in chocolate stuff, and would have had more except I was "stuffed" and needed a nap LOL. Mom's biscuits are crispy all over each biscuit doesn't touch when they cook, and they are smallish compared to other biscuits. Grands are a lot better seem to soak up the sauce, we have a brand Mary B's and they do a "tea biscuit" which is thinner and is our go-to quick biscuit.
I'll be certain to post here, as long as I can prepare it properly the dark chocolate ought to be really good. But I'm just as happy with a couple of tomato biscuits and a little honey, LOL and it's so much easier to make.

Isn't Poke Sallet a lot like Collard greens, love me some collard greens depends on the preparation there are good greens and superb greens cooked with bacon or fastback a little onion a little garlic a little ACV simmered all day with cornbread or biscuits and a mess of crowder or blackeye peas
