I thought there was a 10 day freeze on info from the DoD, is that over now?
I call not love in human frame,
But chrome, and fire, and roaring flame.
She came in smoke and metal breath,
A streak of lust, a dance with death.

Not quite an arrow will lose forward momentum eventually while a laser

They supposedly shot down a drone

Nice!

It took SG-1 until after Richard Dean Anderson left and Claudia Black couldn't save it before they got awesome laser weapons.

In the world of transparency they release the photo of an interceptor craft in low earth orbit blowing up a satellite... Small steps, I guess. If was developed so hard to maneuver destroyers can shoot down slow moving drones. It's an application, right?

And I bring that show up because the older I get the more I think there was legitimate an US/Alien war over Antarctica at some point and the new laser may in fact be partly engineered by Grey aliens.

I thought they were going to mount them to aircraft like "Real Genius" Perhaps they couldn't overcome the vibration issue, or the destroyers' capabilities are in addition to them being mounted on planes

US/Alien war over Antarctica sounds like the continuation of Neuschwabenland and Operation Highjump

What did we give up for the Grey Alien laser tech... would be my first question...

Both SHiELD and the AC-130 laser were cancelled after they couldn't meet requirements.
Logic is dead. Long live BS.

Interesting (from the linked source above)

"In 2024, Vice Adm. Brendan McLane, acknowledging the Navy did not have a laser it could field, noted a directed-energy weapon would assist U.S. warships against Houthi combatants.
The integration of lasers on Navy vessels would also allow crews to conserve munitions, Military Times previously reported."

So much for the U.S. staying out of wars.

Yeah, the Trump administration is ramping up for wars in the next 5 years...

Quote:Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has directed the Pentagon to come up with plans to cut 8% from the defense budget in each of the next five years, according to sources familiar with his plans. The Defense Departmen expects to redirect those fund to other programs in the department that would be prioritized by President Trump.
Robert Salesses, who is performing the duties of deputy secretary of defense, said in a statement Wednesday evening that the department intends to produce budgets "that revive the warrior ethos, rebuild our military, and reestablish deterrence."
Some of the Trump priorities Salesses mentioned include border security, building an Iron Dome defense system for the U.S. and ending government diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
Iron Dome is envisioned as an extensive, multilayered air defense system for the U.S. that Trump has said should include the ability to shoot down incoming missiles from space.
He said that the secretary has ordered a review of spending plans in the Biden administration's budget budget to offset the costs of Trump priorities for the 2026 fiscal year, which begins on Oct. 1. Salesses confirmed in the statement that the department seeks cuts of 8% from the Biden defense budget that would add up to about $50 billion. He mentioned "so-called 'climate change' and other woke programs, as well as excessive bureaucracy," as line items that would be excised.

U.S. Defense budget:

From AI:

"What are the US defense budget priorities?
  • Countering China's military presence in the Indo-Pacific
  • Deterring strategic attacks against the US and allies
  • Defending against evolving threats like cyberattacks
  • Addressing aggression from Russia, Iran, and North Korea"
So when do all US military leave the South China Sea?
