The Interview THEY Didn't Want You To See
#1
Chris Langan is known to have the highest IQ in the world.

I remember listening to this interview, and I thought it was great so I want to share.

I love how down to earth he is, and I love how he isn't controlled by money and greed.

He seem like a very kind person, so he also have a high emotional intelligence (and that is the biggest kind of intelligence in my eyes) - I think we have 9 types of intelligence on earth right now, but believe me there are many other types, humanity just didn't discover them yet.  Wink2

Chris Langan joins the show to discuss his theory of everything - God - psychedelic drugs - and aliens in this special 2-hour conversation.

Is this the same fella who argues that average IQ differences between racial groups are genetic?

If so im apt to dispute the "highest IQ in the world" part.

I think he's also alluded to the notion that most people lack the cognitive capacity for political decision-making.

Does he include himself in that category?

Im apt to ponder, probably not.

As to his suggestion that democracy is fundamentally flawed.

I imagine that's down to the fact that people are not perfect.

So neither are the systems of rule that they devise.

I skipped ahead to 1:12:30 to hear about UFOs and he has a pretty straight forward opinion.

The amount of people reporting them can't all be crazy or just "seeing things". When you have millions of people saying the same thing, it's not just a coincidence. People with a closed mind, who filter out anything that doesn't match their world view, will never see anything out of the ordinary, because they've already made up their minds they don't exist.

High IQ doesn't necessarily mean that someone is smart (or 'superior').

And then The Dunning-Kruger Effect reverses itself and becomes a competition of whose scores are higher. In everything that gives scores.

But I dont like the way this video presents this.  I read his IQ in actually between 158 and 172, which is 99.9%, but...  so are millions of others. They just say he's the smartest person.  And so smart he is dangerous.

So it has an AI Scipted YouTube Video feel to it. And it loses its impact when they do the "Truth THEY don't want you to know!" click bait thing.

Especially because his theory of everything has that "magical force of consciousness" simulation thing to it. So it's MORE like those videos.

And to the normaly dry materialism of quantum physics his theory of everything doesn't make him any less a genius that happens to be pedaling a specious pseudoscience fallacy.

Unless he can explain why braindead people have zero synapse activity after the accident that cut off oxygen. Where'd the unifying force of consciousness go?

I agree on consciousness being like a computer, I just cant see my free choice much more then stepping through a series of multiversal T/F logic gates... and now I am being pseudoscientific....

The extraordinarily intelligent are the synesthete-savants IMO.  Like Daniel Tammet, who learned Icelandic in a week.

Learning facts isn't the same as being intelligent. For me real intelligence is not to learn things like a computer, it is in our imagination instead.

A computer/brain can absorb mountains of data, but it doesn't imagine anything.

It doesn't wake up with a strange idea.

Intelligent people do that.

Real intelligence isn't about remembering the world - it's about imagining new ones.

Just my opinion.   Smile

We have this fixation with metrics and modeling...

IQ is supposed to refer to something like "useful" intelligence... so it's all going to boil down to how eggheads define 'useful' and ion time useful translates into 'measurable.'

IQ is a snapshot anyway... people are not trapped in one instant of measured time.

Smart is not always "intelligent."

Intelligent can sometime be anything but "smart."

Again, I think emotional intelligence is the biggest intelligence because without it, every other kind of intelligence can become dangerous.

It is emotional intelligence that keeps our abilities grounded, compassionate, and wise.  Tongue

It does not show much emotional intelligence to compare Gorillas to Somali people.

I mean, that's a racist trope right there, if ever there was one.

Hardly what one would expect from the socalled man with the highest IQ on the planet.
