The Individual Versus The Collective
#1
"We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism."

I'm not going to attribute that quote right now.
I'd like members to read it and let it absorb.
Does it cause a chill to run down your spine?  It should.

Frigidity?  That does not even compute.
The warmth of the collective?   Sorry, no.  Mindless, faceless, amoral drones are not my idea of society.  No soma for me, thanks.

Having grown up with "be all that you can be", I cannot for the life of me like the sentiments of that sentence.
Ayn Rand and Lewis & Clark are turning over in their graves.  So are Ronald Reagan, Teddy Roosevelt, and John F Kennedy.
There would be no USA without that rugged individualism.  Hell, the entire New World would be unexplored.  One could say the author of that quote dislikes the USA and The West and all it stands for.

Without individualism, we might still be sitting in the dark.  Living on feudal lands around the castle.
Hell, maybe that is what TPTB want.

BTW, in case you missed the speech, zohran mamdani uttered that sentence since taking office, pretty much putting a face on his true beliefs.

“The smallest minority on earth is the individual”

A nice shout out to Rand.

She was self-serving.

I'll give her that.

I threw up a little bit in my mouth when I heard that.
You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

I'll stick with the "color outside the lines" people.

Those not stuck with traditional mindsets.
