Art exists as a judgement call by the witness.
Therefore it is (or can be) everywhere, and anywhere. As a result, for me, I expect to experience art at a museum (in this case) that I could only perceive in that place. I'm not looking to observe a few tin cans and a banana peel in a corner called "art" in a museum, when that kind of "art" exists all around me anywhere I wish to perceive it.
I expect crafted art... not artful narrative crafting.
I know that such a position is fully "on me;" and I apologize if that incorrectly seems insulting or ignorant.
I don't feel that such art should be presented and valued as if it were a Matisse, a Michel Angelo, etc.;... but that's just me.
Meaning and message are important in art, and such displays of casually thrown together items call for the perceiver to "find the art in it."
But I can "find" art anywhere...
I don't need "This is art too."
Nevertheless, artistic freedom manifests everywhere, and if many are inclined to pay to see such artful expressions... well... that's on them.
