Regardless, I’m still not sure how this was even allowed to fly at all. Sure wouldn’t be reciprocated. Like no country would do this for the U.S., and I wouldn’t want it that way either.

Embassies are different imo.

Again, we in the West have believed in propaganda forever and so we just can't understand their culture. A Big Brother that gives its people opportunity and progress may be deemed a fair trade to the people who give back what the government expects, who knows? Chinese nationals are free to leave if they so choose.

You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

Is this how they view us, or you spitballing?

Because I remember reading some rather eyebrow-raising views in a report put forth by a venerated and esteemed Chinese general on how they view the West right around 2020, when they were dealing with Hong Ling students and then a virus dropped onto the global stage…

They didn’t jibe with what you’re saying. At all.

It's 2026 and all is forgiven says USA because they need something. China really holds all the cards at this point, IMO.

Agreed. The long-game and BS U.S. politics/endless wars coming into play here.

But enemy, rival, and competitor are sometimes interchangeable. Ya know?

I also believe China feels like the American course has played out in terms of global hegemony.

We shall see in a few days, but we may not see what deals are made on the sly.
