The Cosmic Hand

NASA recently shared an image of the pulsar wind nebula MSH 15-52, and it’s already been nicknamed the "Cosmic Hand." At first glance it looks like a cloud shaped by chance… but the details are hard to ignore. The X-ray and radio data line up to form a near-perfect palm and fingers, stretching across 150 light-years.

The shape seems too perfect. Random gas clouds usually look chaotic, but this one has clear fingers and a palm. Are we sure this is just physics, or could something be sculpting it? 

Cultures from Mesopotamia to Mesoamerica used the hand as a symbol of power, creation...

That doesn't look like a hand.

You're imagining things.

It is clearly an octopus with a spider on top.


They chose pretty colors for the picture though. Although magenta is even more sus than indigo; clear sign of shenanigans.

Well, what other body part would represent power over our world than the hand? After all, that is what we use to manipulate everything around us. 

As far as a human hand shape goes, a bear paw can often be mistaken for a human hand by the bones. All mammals have similar bone structure. Even whales. 

It does look more ape than human.

As if fractals weren't enough proof of that fact!


Perhaps it is the pattern of the hand that is reflecting this cosmic  structure, and not the other way around?

My pareidolia sees a Triceratops.   I guess God's hand has many interpretations.
