The Banter Cafe

I was always partial to Sheperd's Pie and Beans + HP Sauce.

Who needs Ex-Lax after that?

Hmmm....tasty! Prefer marrowfat peas to Beans. With mint jelly.
I now know why I am called a grown up. Every time I get up I groan.

My wife makes a mean shepherds pie.
It's Gordon Ramsay's recipe that uses ground lamb with thyme and a lot of Worcestershire sauce. And a bit of carrots for texture.  its divine.

OK. Coming up.

What paper? You out of bog paper? You can borrow some, but I don't want it back....

A newspaper. Anything with the headlines and the usual gossip on the celebs and a crossword will do.

Hold the Parsley, I'll save that for the herb gardening.

Cheers.

Bit quiet today. So to entice a few customers in, I happen to have a bottle of 12 Star Metaxa (Greek brandy) under the counter.

Complimentary glass with every coffee.

One per customer, first come first served.

But, ssshhhh!

I don't do lattes etc because this is a cafe and I don't speak Starbucks.

Someone asked for a Tanzanian Peaberry (whatever that is) but they got a cup of Lidls coffee and didn't seem to notice.

Can do expressos, mind.

Ooo! Can you do a Coffee Brandy Alexander? Maybe with chocolate shavings on top?

I'll chip it specially for you. A cheeky Metaxa with it?

As for cocktails, I can recommend a Slippery Nipple. No I don't serve them.

Got slaughtered on last night on Skiathos on these. Amongst other stuff. How we made our flight the next morning, God knows.

A Cappuccino would be nice, but just give me a straw and I'll blow my own bubbles if you don't have a frother.

Any Bubble and Squeak today?
