Bowl of Texas Chilli?

Yes to both!   I am off my keto diet and that's a great way to plunge back into the world of tasty foods!  Side of Serrano Peppers if you please.  Thumbup

I will try those tricks next time because I am definitely going to make these again, the recipe worked very well. Soaked for 14 hours and cooked at low in a slow cooker for 12 hours. Maybe next time I'll use a tiny bit less paprika. The unsweetened ketchup I used was Primal Kitchen, and I think that is what I am going to buy from now on because it is great.

Anyway I have tons of beans now and will probably have to freeze some but that is okay; Batchelors are waay too expensive now at $6/can at the local store!

I may do a special - American Goulash?  For our friends over the Pond.

Any takers?

What's that when it's at home? So many different goulash variations and so many different locations over the Pond.

This.

I remember eating that at an American truck stop maybe in Kansas or somewhere in South Dakota, it was a long time ago and I went to a lot of places then, but they didn't call it goulash. I knew that dish as the 'Chef's Special'.

"While the mixture of ground beefmacaroni, and tomato sauce seems simple enough, thousands of users responded with a slew of different names. Beefaroni, goulash, slumgullion, Johnny Marzetti, American Chop Suey—the list goes on. But how did this casserole come about, and why can nobody agree on its name?"

I followed the recipe, except I used tamari instead of soy sauce.

That mortar and pestle looks just like mine, which I don't use anymore, because I bought a small chopper which does the job in no time.
