Tell Us About Your Avatar

I found my avatar on an amazing website 22 years ago. I used it as my desktop background back in the day. It has literally thousands of pics ranging from all different genres.

Here you go, and you’re welcome:

https://digitalblasphemy.com

I think I resonated with it, as I was at the beginning of my ‘spiritual journey’ when I found it. For me, it represents ‘Initiation into the Mysteries’, with ascension through dimensions being the culmination. A large temple, with the initiate at the center. With one specific purpose. The light encircling being the protection, from whatever might try to impede on that ascension (It also seems very befitting during the scamdemic. With my extreme isolation and 6 foot bubble, lol).

Made sense to me back in the day. Alas, after living over a decade in the woo of Sedona — my vigor on the topic has waned. I don’t want to fucking talk about chakras damnit!!!

Yes, definitely a little sad. I did make an effort to capture some essence of the story which is basically what you have highlighted there.

My avatar is a photo, which was run through some light filtering to make pop, from a show one of my favorite lighting designers did. Saxton Waller is his name and his company is LSD (Lighting Show Design)...he is one of the more talented designers I follow and his work is the type of thing that motivates me to be a better lighting engineer. FYI the master electrician/production electrican gig is basically the engineer making art reality when it comes to lighting. The designer picks the type of light and does the creative part. I take the creative vision and calculate the power, determine the distribution, come up with the data/signal flow of the rig, gear list, preproduction prep like labels and documentation to allow other to be on board with the plan, and run the crew that installs the show. And yes...I love my job!

Mine is my tattoo.  I suppose it represents alot of things that are in tune with my being but I like to leave it open to interpretation.

Thank you and yea...its the only job I have ever had that I actually enjoy. I loved the production world from day one about 18 years ago. Finally followed the rabbit hole to a dream gig working for myself freelancing and doing what I love...so even like my current gig when its the worst ever...I still wouldn't want to do any other job!

Maybe one day I will figure out uploading some of the pics I get from shows, if I am allowed, to share with you guys. I for sure have stories to tell...but its a small world and I still have to be careful what I say and post.

Mine is from the movie "Explorers" which I watched 1000 times as a kid. It brought out the love of space in me.

Australia is a big, diverse place with lots going on. If I could only pick one picture that captures the spirit of Australia, this photo is it. Lot of dry, sparse land with life finding a way to hang on. Some places get more barren, others more lush. The style of tress is very typical across much of the land with many variations, some smaller, some bigger.

For a typical image of what Australia is about, this image is it.
