Getting rid of the CIA makes no sense to me either, weird sauce.  I think it's the self centered disease where people can't fathom that there is very intelligent and organized actors out there.  I don't see any other nations or groups stopping their clandestine activates.  It's just a massive vulnerability.

I didn't think of this as getting rid of the CIA... but instead encouraging activist elements to jump ship now... because the happier days of their 'causes' are likely over.

The problem was never that different groups of people disagree... it was that some of them thought they could just 'make appearances' what the job was all about.
