They're smart enough to know exactly what damage will happen when a nuke hits the city they're targeting, but are still able to order a missile launch. It's a fine line to walk.

Sierra Nevada achieved a contract milestone by sending the first aircraft to the National Institute of Aviation Research (NIAR) in Wichita. The arrival at NIAR begins the next phase of EMD. The Air Force requested Open Architecture, digitally twinned, which NIAR does. They are currently also working on an ultimate B-52 fatigue study, and a digital twin of a B-1 to help work to improve maintenance on the fleet as well as finding any potential issues with fatigue.
