My favorite plane at the moment. It's just beautiful.
wtf is happening at min 4
I call not love in human frame,
But chrome, and fire, and roaring flame.
She came in smoke and metal breath,
A streak of lust, a dance with death.

That extreme maneuverability is only possible via thrust vectoring and a fine ballet dance of ailerons, flaps, flaperons and movable wing leading–edges.
Beautiful to see in action.
It's a must-have tech for any fifth generartion fighters.
I hope Zaphod58 will add more technical information and interesting trivia.

It’s a thrust to weight demonstration more or less. At normal takeoff weight the Su-57 has a thrust to weight ratio of 1.09, and 0.97 at loaded weight. For an Airshow, with minimum fuel it’s probably closer to 1.11. That allows for them to use thrust to “hold” the aircraft in the vertical position like you saw in the video. Most of these maneuvers aren’t really useful in combat, but look great at Airshows.

Oh man was that crazy to see!!
Like it was hovering there. Pretty damn cool.
Amazing how much the tech has advanced.

It is also necessary to take into account that the air show exhibition in China's Zhuhai presents an export version of the Su-57. That is, many systems are seriously cut down, and the aircraft itself is adapted only to the requirements of foreign customers, which seriously excludes the latest technologies used in the Russian armed forces.

The fact that it's the export version is largely irrelevant though when it comes to the flying display. The major differences between the Su-57 and Su-57E are internal. The performance is almost identical, with the export version having a very slightly lighter MTOW. The thrust rating is the same, the speed is the same, etc.

This was this T-50 and not the Su-57, basically just a demonstration and for export.

T-50 is the Sukhoi internal designation. It was used on the original prototypes, but they’re all T-50s technically.
