Southwest Airlines, No More Free Baggage Allowance
#1
Guess they're gonna self-destruct.

Southwest Airlines' New Bag Policy Destroyed By Angry Customers
Quote:Southwest letting you check 2 bags for free was the ONLY thing keeping them in business. If I gotta pay for BOTH bags now AND you cost just as much as a BETTER airline, why wouldn’t I go with them instead? Their pockets are about to HURT!! This won’t last long

Bags fly free and open seating is why Southwest. Just raise the tickets $20 to $30 each way. Turn a $59 dollar "wanna get away" fare into an $89, or even $119 dollar one, and do so across the board.

Who goes everywhere cheap, but Southwest? The main line carriers that rarely drop below 250 each way. And it's worth a little extra to avoid Spirit, Frontier, or Allegiant at all costs.

This is dumb on their part. Especially the open seating.

The fun of Southwest is logging on exactly 24 hours before your boarding time to get in the A or even B boarding group. If you end up in C it kinda sucks, you always get stuck by a baby or fat person.

But that's the aura of Southwest Airlines. The Wild Wild West of cheap people flying with some standards.

I’m just wondering when they are going to make fat asses purchase two seats. It’s not my fault you can’t stop shoving food in your face. Keep your chunk within your designated area or buy another goddamn seat, fatty.

They'll usually move themselves if you start talking about how you've been yearning for the warmth of fleshly contact. Don't be shy.

They've been self-destructing for years now.  From antequated software and disgruntled employees to now a kneejerk decision to destroy any ounce of loyalty their customers may have entertained.

Now....and don't ridicule me for this......I recently flew Spirit and was surprise how they've upped their game a little bit.   I even had to reach out to customer service due to a mistake I'd made when booking and the experience was 90% positive.   (minus 10% for using overseas folks who you can barely understand).   I usually travel with NO checked baggage and I'll definitely consider Spirit again for any flight under 3 hours.
Now...Frontier (lol) is still scraping the bottom but again, for flights under 3 hours with no checked baggage, it's an option.

If I HAVE to check a bag, it's American all the way.  I've lost luggage twice with Delta so they're out.  Plus the fact that they flly a multitude of aircraft types kind of makes me wary.
