I'm human so I'm a walking talking paradox pretty much but the main one's are probably these:
I have fundamental beliefs about the human condition, our capacity, the individual and collective capability of humanity, the general leaning of decency, but then I can't stand people. Summed up in a rough general saying I have - "People are dumb, aggressive, inconsiderate and incapable whereas a person? They're smart, kind, considerate and capable" the words change but the meaning is roughly the same... Crowds collectively run a deficit even if the carrot or the stick improves performance.
Freedom - I fundamentally believe all should be free to do whatever the hell they want and suffer the consequences freely, the paradox being the need to protect the vulnerable and the misinformed. It's a catch 22 when you begin to understand the fundamentals of human psychology because people are not simply malicious in a vacuum of niceties. Freedom within moral constraints and ethical structures is always going to be a shadow of a once glorious statue.
Death - it should be a last resort, always. Unless irreversible harm is about to be committed. Then it might just need to be the first resort. If more people considered ultimatums and the overall degradation of society I'd imagine the quality of life will skyrocket as the number of suicides do.
A bit dark on that last one but I feel it sums up my paradoxical ways of thinking well, I have nothing but the utmost respect for humanity and the potential of the human condition. I genuinely love what humans can be but I have nothing but disdain for what you/we are.
Extremist baldy monkeys.
