Room mates
#1
Of the other kind...What are more of the interesting room mates that you have had?

In my current home I share space with a "shadow" cat and something else, maybe it's owner that is a child or a very short person.

The cat is pretty chilled, it will just appear randomly for a short time and then be gone.  No sense of malice or anything else. I have had a report of it jumping on a bed and touching someone, but I have not experience anything like that. It once came right past me on the stairs, but that's as exciting as it gets for me.

The other shadow entity I'm not so sure about.  I generally get the feeling if I leave it alone it will leave us alone.  Not much to report other than I just catch a glimpse of it now and then. It's about 4-5 feet tall so small.

I often wonder about whether my similar experiences were something akin to what you and others call "shadow" entities.  I have never felt suddenly anxious over seeing such things, but I know that some people become quite uncomfortable.

If I may ask, has anyone visiting you ever expressed discomfort or agitation you could not 'explain' to yourself other than possibly the presence of this phenomenon?

I'm just curious.

I can usually blame their feelings of discomfort or agitation on myself Duh

In seriousness, I can't say that I'm 100% comfortable. It's a very odd thing, but just that.

My wife and I are convinced there is another little girl that we can't see living with us.
When our daughter isn't home we will hear what sounds like a young girl playing coming from her bedroom. That bedroom hallway is particularly creepy as well, we are always seeing waist high shadows zip in and out of the adjacent bathroom.
Nothing particularly negative has happened either, things found broken are about the worst.
I love hearing stories about the shadow animals, makes me really feel we are experiencing time skips or the veil is getting thin. Poor kitty, glad hes chill with you guys though.

Thanks.  My wife said the cat has been following her around her whole life, I have only seen it since living here.

There is another thread going on about ley lines that had me wondering about people moving from one paranormal hotspot to another.  This place is only topped by the 1800 hospital ward I used to live in that was converted to housing...didn't know what it was at the time.

All our pets went mad the first night.

They never recovered, it was very sad.

Thinking back really puts me in a state. The cockroaches was demented.  Fat glistening things never with normal behavior.  You would find them sneaking around sideways or just lying on their backs.

They would lure you in and then scurry away.

sounds like something intentionally messing with them.
I have a theory that places where lots of people congregate hold onto peoples negative or positive energy
some apartments I've lived in were straight up terrifying, and some places I'd expect to have activity don't.
A hospital ward from the 1800s I feel could have a mixture of both. Might be worth sending a team in to investigate.

I'm willing to share the location with trustworthy people...but messing with the place sounds like a bad idea.  If the ghosts doesn't get you the snakes will, it's also infested with snakes but that's the location.

...digressing here a bit, these things always freaks me out more when there is real animals. And isn't it the darndest thing that's it's snakes and roaches, owls and wolves and things.  Automatically you sound like a cook when you retell the story.

I got hurt in that place, not sure I'm ready to talk about it.

If I were to presume to advise...

Don't dwell on it until you are ready.  You must place it in your memory where it can do no further harm.  That takes time and inner reflection.  There is no time requirement to this process, which belongs only to you.  Once that's accomplished, you will feel stronger... but better still... you will be stronger.

If I were to presume... I apologize if I've gone to a place unwelcome to visitors.

The idea of shadow anything, what a great thought.  I'm glad I don't have to think I'm completely batshit insane all the time but rarely what I observe can be checked or confirmed so I don't bother talking about any of it.

Just tell myself I am crazy,  shadows on my shoulders watching me or what I'm doing then whiz through the wall when I notice.  Flash and gone.  Cats seen it, dog doesn't. Wife spotted a couple but she has her own experiences.

Have you ever seen the opposite of a shadow thing?  I one time saw a shadow when I looked instead of moving through a wall it lit up like an hourglass made of sunlight then sort of just twisted itself into nothing.

I'm pretty sure we're all crazy
