There was a fascinating discussion over the web today about Robert A. Monroe’s Journeys Out of the Body. In that book the final chapters on the psychological exercises that relate to the establishment of an OBE are shocking.
considered “too dangerous” by the CIA Project Manager of the Monroe Contract

The ‘other’ (ET) contact describes what he labels as a ‘hypothesis,’ but it is so detailed as to give the reader the impression that it is what he experienced as contact with ‘other’ intelligences who probe our planet.

On a quick look I couldn't find exactly that part of Monroe's book, let me find it and I get back to you.
"The final chapters on the psychological exercises"

If they are too dangerous for CIA then sure as hell I want it!

Yeah I just checked my paperback of his first book , my edition from 1973 and there are Preliminary Exercises and Separation/Projection but nothing about psychological exercises. There are charts in the back on which techniques helped for separation in which cases, like Warmth, etc but nothing about mental exercises other than the above 2.

Do you happen to know where to read about this psychological exercises? Maybe they are discussed about somewhere, without the context of Monroe's book?

...not in-detail from Monroe...  you need to go further down the rabbit hole for that

I'm sure there are a few 'resources' around here (DI) that can point you in the right direction...

However, this knowledge is occulted, for a reason...  be careful :)

I'm not sure I can tell you much more...  I don't know much for certain; just my experience with the material (Monroe).

However, there are plenty of individuals (perhaps yourself?), groups & communities exploring the subject, from various perspectives, and many 'rabbit holes' to dive into that may offer more insight on the matter.  I've met a few within this forum, ATS, Discord, X, etc. that have offered or pointed toward various info...

My cautionary note was, again, of my own experience - I get the impression something nefarious could be afoot, but I've not plumbed the depths & met the sea-monsters, so to speak ...just shadows.  There are many questionable characters, motives or themes involved.  However, caution isn't synonymous with abstention or rejection - there may indeed be something of great value to be explored/experienced here...  just not haphazardly or naively.

It's not nothing.  There's 'something' to it...  beyond that; I think we're all trying to weave the tapestry together?

The sources of the subject here, lets say is astral realm/other realms of consciousness state clearly that this is not a practice to be approached with recklessness or lightly without much care, because many things can go "spooky" and it can be a bit of a dislikeable experience.

So yeah if that was what you where referring to then yes I am well aware of the dangers and the astral bullies :)

By the way guys did you read the amerikan intelligence agency paper on the assessment of the "gateway experience" from Monroe institute?
