There are always ups and downs in the market.
Quote:Since Trump 1st stepped into office the S&P 500 index has increased by a factor of 3.78 [Image: https://denyignorance.com/images/ogsmilies/saint2.gif] [Image: https://denyignorance.com/images/ogsmilies/lol.gif]
If the boomers left their money in the market they made 378% on their money. Since Trump was in office.

That's not how it works with retirees because they are continually withdrawing on that money, thus taking hard hits won't allow them to recover in the way you are thinking they can. As well, many move their investments out of stocks and into safer investments with lower risk and lower gains.

That's how it works for me. I'm a retiree. You think it would have been better for me if the market went down? Or if the Democrats confiscated it through higher taxes to fund our invasion and moral decay?

If you have a large portfolio then you won't feel the downward slides as much as others who have smaller portfolios and don't have other sources from which to draw for living expenses.

Others that often had the same or better job than me. But bought the best new cars and clothes. Vacationed. Ate out like they were millionaires or something. Made more bad decisions. Have smaller portfolios.
While I did without and invested more. And learned how to successfully invest.
Sorry. I'm not going to the FEMA camp to make it fair. The Democrats always had enough money to pay for illegal alien future communist voters.
They still have unemployment to temporarily live off of. And if they had a legitimate job, Social Security.

I wish the government, Uncle Sugar, just gave everyone back the money they put in to Social Security.
I hate the idea that government can hold or invest my money better than I can.

Yeah, you have no way of knowing if they got an inheritance or had a multiple income family set up. A very large percentage of ordinary full-time working Americans did not earn a living wage.
If you want to discuss which party spends more taxpayer on what, then right now your government is spending it on warmongering instead of lifting people up and providing affordability in every day needs.
----
"The United States has spent $29 billion on the war in Iran so far, according to Pentagon finance chief Jules Hurst III, who updated Congress on this figure as of May 12, 2026. This represents an increase from the $25 billion estimate provided by the Pentagon in late April.
Key details regarding the costs include: - Daily Rate: Analysts estimate the conflict is costing approximately $500 million per day.
- Equipment Replacement: A significant portion of the spending is attributed to replacing or repairing damaged assets, such as the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier and various radar systems, with some estimates suggesting replacement costs alone could reach $24–$25 billion.
- Historical Context: Early in the conflict (late February 2026), the cost was estimated at $11–$12 billion for the first two weeks, and $5 billion within the first few days of Operation Epic Fury.
- Future Funding: The Pentagon has requested an additional $200 billion in supplemental appropriations to continue operations, alongside a $1.5 trillion defense budget for 2027." (LLM)
----------
" Primary Drivers- Policy Changes: The expiration of pandemic relief programs and recent legislative cuts to safety net programs are cited as major factors driving poverty up.
- Economic Factors: Rising housing costs, inflation, and stagnant wages for lower-income jobs continue to contribute to economic hardship.
- Structural Issues: Experts note that the U.S. has a less generous welfare system compared to other developed nations, contributing to persistently high poverty rates. "(LLM)

"Nevertheless, the U.S. has the weakest social safety net of all developed nations.[sup][176][/sup][sup][177][/sup][sup][178][/sup] Sociologist Monica Prasad of Northwestern University argues that this developed because of government intervention rather than lack of it, which pushed consumer credit for meeting citizens' needs rather than applying social welfare policies as in Europe."

WTF?
I don't piss or moan, I just state what I see are facts and the truth.
And I was in a discussion with Knows which you interrupted with your triggered post.
I'm just watching Trump kiss Xi's ass. Maybe if he does it right more U.S. exports can be had.

Meh, free speech, ban me if I "interrupt" again.
My point still stands.
I don't remember seeing you post about the US spending Billions on Ukraine.
But Iran?
You suddenly become Betty-Accountant.
