Reaping what you sew political law fare

I mean, I get it completely, on one hand, but just like with Trump, if it ends with nothing being done, it was a freaking waste of time and money.

If they shoot and miss here, this type of manipulation will get worse and worse. Just like the left's constant missing on Trump made him stronger than ever.

All good and well until all of them plead the fifth as soon as their ass hits the seat.

I get the idea of the fifth, but it is too easy of an "easy out" for criminals such as these to get away with what they are doing.

even if they end up in jail, the partisan angle will be that they're there because trump needed a diversion from being called out as a pedo

For some, probably so; for some, probably not.

FWIW, there's informed opinion that the majority of Trump's name is being mentioned in the Virginia Roberts Giuffres case

But this thread is about the congressional subpoenas, which is a big enough political deal in itself, pretty sure we have never seen 2 former Presidents subpoenaed at the same time

We have how many active Epstein threads in comparison?

Quote:Trump’s name is prominent for several reasons:
  • Relationship with Epstein: Trump and Epstein were friends for at least 15 years, socializing at Mar-a-Lago and other events in the 1990s and early 2000s. They were photographed together multiple times, and Trump called Epstein a “terrific guy” in a 2002 interview, noting his preference for younger women. Their relationship reportedly ended around 2004–2007, with Trump claiming he banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago for “inappropriate” behavior, specifically for “stealing” employees, including Giuffre.
  • Giuffre’s Recruitment at Mar-a-Lago: Giuffre’s claim that Maxwell recruited her from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club ties the location directly to the case. Trump’s recent statements (July 2025) that Epstein “stole” Giuffre and other young women from the spa prompted outrage from her family, who clarified she was “preyed upon” by Maxwell, not stolen, and raised questions about what Trump knew at the time.
  • Epstein Files and Transparency: The Trump administration faced scrutiny for its handling of Epstein-related documents. Attorney General Pam Bondi initially promised to release files but later stated there was no “client list” or evidence implicating others, sparking backlash from some Trump supporters who demanded full disclosure. Trump’s claim that he was unaware of Epstein’s crimes and his call for limited release of grand jury testimony (subject to court approval) fueled speculation about his involvement or knowledge.
  • Allegations and Denials: While Giuffre never accused Trump of sexual misconduct, her 2016 deposition stated she saw him at Epstein’s properties but did not witness him participating in any illicit acts. Another accuser, Maria Farmer, reported a “troubling encounter” with Trump to the FBI in 1996 and 2006, though she provided no evidence of criminality. A 2016 lawsuit by an anonymous “Jane Doe” alleging rape by Trump and Epstein was dropped without substantiation and is unrelated to Giuffre’s case. Trump has consistently denied wrongdoing, and no credible evidence links him to Epstein’s crimes.
  • Public and Media Focus: Trump’s high profile, past friendship with Epstein, and recent comments about Giuffre have kept his name in the spotlight. Conspiracy theories, amplified by both political sides, speculate about a cover-up or hidden “client list,” though the Justice Department found no such evidence. Posts on X and media reports, like a Wall Street Journal claim about a 2003 birthday letter from Trump to Epstein (which Trump denied), have further fueled public interest.
In summary, Trump’s prominence in the narrative stems from his documented ties to Epstein, Giuffre’s recruitment at Mar-a-Lago, and his administration’s handling of the Epstein files, compounded by his own statements and ongoing public fascination with the case. However, no substantiated allegations of criminal involvement by Trump have emerged.

This is all political theatre so the Republicans can point fingers during the mid terms and again in 2028.

Nothing will come of it, but they'll keep flogging that horse for all it's worth. Anyone who has been paying attention knows this is just a waste of time and money.

Just like Shifty and James getting investigated for the same thing they convicted Trump on, they'll whine that it's political persecution.

Lefties need to remember that slogan they were so fond of - No One Is Above The Law.

The back and forth political accusation reality TV show is exactly how both make believe parties hide behind their crimes... it's been going on for so long they lost track of who owes who favors anymore.

Perhaps it's time to stop listening to either sides proclamations and simply not support any of them anymore.

Their game is rigged.

Many of those people have been pardoned. which invalidates the claim of self-incrimination the Fifth Amendment provides.
They won't get away with taking the fifth.
