Worldwide, it's amazing the level of stockholm syndrome citizens have for those they put in power.

I think a lot of people just don't really care, because they are trying to at least mentally opt out of the system.
I for one believe that 'They' only really have power over you if you behave like it, or let it get to you.

How about just sticking with the constitution and start enforcing it.
It’s not perfect but it’s the best the world has seen, ever.

I can see where there might be confusion in the OP when I said to "level it and start over". What I meant was gut it from the top down and trim it to size, not start from scratch.

Correcting the situation is certainly not as  easy, and pain free as "How about just sticking with the constitution and start enforcing it." That idea seems to be a death sentence handed down by the criminals that are running things behind the scenes.

I don’t think gutting it is helpful.
It needs to be more robust.
Bad precedent has been set, and I’m not talking just the damage Obama and Biden have done.
Positive steps in the past few years by SCOTUS brings hope.
Bruen, Roe, Chevron etc.
They need to look at the 14th as concerns this ridiculous anchor baby interpretation, which is horrible precedent.
I’m all for trimming it as well, just like Trump is doing.

Part Stockholm Syndrome, part laziness and a big part is that we also "vote" for others to take care of us.  We have given over parts of our "independence" to teachers, doctors, lawyers and government workers....to name a few.

I doubt many, if any of us, would be considered "hearty stock" anymore.   Many of us make few decisions about our lives anymore.

just stop voting, i did years ago, if more than half a countries population dont vote, then what ?

Serious question as to me it would mean the majority (supposedly how elections are won) would be non voters therefore in my mind a new system would need to be proposed

if this current system has to continue then proportional representation is my own choice (i still would not vote) that seems fairer to me, so whatever the percentage split of the vote then the gooberment of said nation is made up of people from that politicial party, make these idiots work together as then laws would be made from day 1 with multiple points of view (you know like real society that we live in) instead of 1 party all spewing the same lies in tandem

just stop voting or bring back guy fawkes both could work....thats sarcasm mr starmer  Saint2

Dont be offended if I call your favourite idiot in a suit a liar, thief and pleb, I think ALL politicians are equally corrupt

Just burn to the ground the people trying to always "reinterpret" the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

But burn them to the ground peacefully.

I won't promote violence. Biggrin

I sense a certain........ what to call it..   anti-Renaissance?  Yes, that will do.  It is all around where I live;  as Pink Floyd said in Time, "Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way",  well that certain desperation seems apparent here as well.

"Nothing I can do about it".

I say similar things.   I consider myself to be pragmatic, but that's just another word for not fighting the problems I don't think I can effect.   There was a time where I at least had the sand to protest, along with others.  At least we did that. Didn't participate in violence or property destruction or burning things.  That is not protest, at least for me;  that is insurrection, where innocent people are harmed physically or economically.    I have had my own personal public protests in the last ten years.  Did it do any good?   No measurable, except that some individuals might think again for embarking on that pivotal path.

I think the Constitution and Bill of Rights is everything, at least for the U.S.   I think all the answers are there, because the framework allows for its modification/amendment, but -- and this is important -- it does NOT allow for its subjugation.   If we, the legal electorate collectively want something changed, there is a framework for that.   Government does NOT have the right to supercede  nor supress, nor infringe upon the Constitution.
