ATS never had a reputation system. I get that. I'm not 100 percent on keeping it. But ATS did once have points, and a shop. That's what I want to implement here. 

The reputation thing here is experimental. Negative reps are disabled so it honestly doesn't serve much purpose.

Nah Im just ambivalent to one personally,ie 1 pt or 1000pts its all the same but completely get why the site has it 

Weirdly, I was on ATS daily from 2010 on and I never knew there was a points system or a shop, sometimes I think I shifted into a nearly similar dimension at some point cause I don't remember any of that

Here's the situation.

There's been a massive update to the points system plugins that would be lovely to install except for the fact that it conflicts with with some of the other features, namely the live chatroom.

If we upgrade the points system, the chat will have to go. For now at least. There's not many options for live integrable chatrooms these days. We may have to make something ourselves.

What about using the discord for more direct communication? Can put a link to it here?

Personally I reckon the point system will be cool, but what's the chances of getting merch sent to Mexico  .

I've mixed feelings about the reputation bizzo, and the ATS veteran bizzo too. 

I found ATS flags were useful to determine, in a very loose kind of way, how many people had actually bothered to read what you'd written as a thread contributor.  Here at DI there are thread views so that's probably kinda the same, and personally I'm cool with that. 

The stars on the other hand had a net negative effect IMHO. 

And I'm saying I don't like the ATS veteran bizzo because it is a thing that is unatainable for new members, and I don't mean members like me, I mean people who sign up only to find that there is part of their new family that they can never be a part of. Jm2c.
