OK so the conspiracy theory contention is that a single comet was responsible for the Younger Dryas 'Event' and no other cataclysm?

Duckduckgo directed me to 'what happened 12,800 years ago?' and thus to this which is interesting

Thank you sincerely.

The Younger Dryas happened, but it wasn't a cataclysm.
There is no evidence for any YD impact.

That's because the comets hit miles thick ice sheets in the Northern hemisphere. It was the ice age after all.

Thanks, Byrd. Long time, isn't it?

These days, when someone says the "Younger Dryas Event" or the "Younger Dryas Cataclysm," I find it prudent to take it as meaning the YDIH, as you said.
That's because of all the publicity generated for that bogus claim by Hancock in his Netflix crockumentary series.
Did you listen to the song I linked you to?

No, I don't mean a crater, though that would be nice.
I mean the nanodiamonds that turned out not to be there.
I mean the microspherules that turned out to come from next to railroad tracks (they are generated by combustion in the engine.)
I mean the various examples of the "black mat," which is found at all the claimed sites, but at wildly differing dates.
Things like this: most of what's been written by the frauds is just a rehash of their original two papers that never should have made it past peer review because they didn't present their data set.
Fast forward 20 years and they still haven't backed up their original claims with their data even though their subsequent papers cite the originals every single time they publish one.

Those reasons are good enough for me, and for anyone that doesn't have some neurotic need to cling to magical thinking.

Different site with actual evidence of a possible bolide, or at least a fireball that exploded like Tunguska.
Regarding the "single comet" thing, they had to alter it to a comet that broke up and some of the parts that calved off came down.
Again, there exists no evidence for such a thing.
It is important to note that comets have a velocity that is orders of magnitude higher than that of a meteor. FAR greater effect for the amount of mass. That's probably why they changed it to a few pieces - it would do a lot more than a short, localized cooling period if it was a whole comet.

Indeed, a long time...and it's always nice to see you around.

No, I didn't listen to the song.  I avoid videos and am on a wonky connection right now.  I've also missed the Hancock series... don't want to damage the tv by throwing things at it.

That's from 2020 and is another publication effort by the "Younger Dryas Comet Group."  It's been debunked, last I read -- or at least isn't widely accepted because of the problems with their other papers.

Well, the great flood was suppose to have been at that time...something happened to melt much of the ice sheets...quickly. Many cultures have myths and legends about it.....so we were around then.

I think the evidence that we have had Much older civilisations past is fairly strong.

Maybe millions of years ago. They are already finding that the accent of man is not a linear path...that Many types of humans lived at the same time in many parts of the World. We see it just in our last 200 years or so.....primitive cultures all around chasing animals with spears , while we fly to the moon....

My excitement is....are These Others, still here under our feet and in other places like the oceans.......someone is flying those craft.
Could also be future humans....or whatever we turn into.

Sadly, some people probably know.

LOL
I don't watch Hancock either, but I haven't missed anything.
He hasn't had a new idea since the 1980s.

The song is called "Three Fingered Fellas Named Shorty" by Iko Iko.
Look it up sometime.
