Pentagon pizza party
I am so suspicious about these things...

My old person brain says "Why the hell would you advertise a meeting of generals and the CinC?"

Also, What effect does the effort behind this grand affair achieve? Security-wise it is an abomination of an idea.  Intelligence-wise it can have no 'safe' purpose except as dissimulation... which hasn't worked since the cold war.

Could this be merely a 'press the flesh' type affair up front, but something much less casual behind the scenes, like one of those "It's time to walk the walk." moments.  Perhaps it's neither of those "Hollywood" things at all....

Generals who have "never met their commanders" represent an opportunity for exploitation.
(that precept can be spread around... it's useful.)

You’d think that repeatedly posting knowingly false shit would get more attention than it does, considering it’s truly ruining the discourse.
Maybe there are underlying motives why they’re not dealt with.

The post was correct in its context. When another poster runs with it out of context that then becomes the false deflection, the strawman.

I very much believe there is more going on behind the scenes.
Most of it boring, probably.
Perhaps some not.
Remember, "every public speech is a memo to the enemy".
The question is, who is the enemy?
This applies on multiple levels, politically and militarily.
And tell me, oh media: why should I care?
Trump gives a speech at this event. Covers a lot of topics with how war is going globally and locally.

Any speculation or inside information? Maybe Venezuela or Argentina? Or are we finally going to get tribunals? Pay cut or layoffs? Russia or Greenland? Illegals or Antifa? Nothing ever happens?

I think from the speech given by Hegsworth, the pizza ordering days are out, and only Dementia Don can order fast food anymore. China, Russia, and Iran will have to start monitoring salad bars around the pentagon instead.

Here is the full speech from Pete Hegseth. The days of woke are over with a return back to physical, presentation and merit based standards. The main staff promoting DEI are gone with the departments involved getting overhauled to stop all the frivolous claims.

Wrong!!!
Trump gave the "against all enemies, foreign and domestic" line.

War Secretary used "No more ... rules of engagement, just ... maximum lethality and authority for warfighters...and then we have their back" to indicate that war crimes will not be an issue.

Here's the transcripts:
Donald Trump
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth
Quote:Donald Trump

00:37:44-00:38:07 (23 sec)
That's what it is. Only in recent decades did politicians somehow come to believe that our job is to police the far reaches of Kenya and Somalia, while America is under invasion from within. We're under invasion from within, no different than a foreign enemy, but more difficult in many ways because they don't wear uniforms.

00:41:16-00:41:39 (23 sec)
You know, the Democrats run most of the cities that are in bad shape. We have many cities in great shape too, by the way. I want you to know that. But it seems that the ones that are run by the radical left Democrats, what they've done to San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, they're very unsafe places and we're going to straighten them out one by one.

00:41:39-00:41:58 (18 sec)
And this is going to be a major part for some of the people in this room. That's a war too. It's a war from within. Controlling the physical territory of our border is essential to national security. We can't let these people live in [ corrected ]. You know, we had no people enter in the last four months, zero. Even I can't believe that.

00:49:07-00:49:30 (23 sec)
We don't have the confidence, even though they're not coming back very easily, we don't have the confidence. We put them in jails. But these service members are following in a great and storied military tradition from protecting frontier communities to chasing outlaws and bandits in the Wild West. And our history is filled with military heroes who took on all enemies, foreign and domestic.

00:49:30-00:49:55 (25 sec)
You know that phrase very well, that's what the oath says, foreign and domestic. Well, we also have domestic. George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Grover Cleveland, George Bush and others all used the armed forces to keep domestic order and peace. Many of our leaders used the military to keep peace. Now they like to say, oh, you're not allowed to use the military.

00:49:55-00:50:17 (22 sec)
And you know what the people say, the people in those cities where they're being raped and shot and beat up, you know, they say we love the military. You ever see where they're interviewing the people on the street? I've never seen somebody say they don't unless they're radical and paid off because a lot of these insurrectionists are paid by -- whether it's Soros or other people, but they're paid by the radical left.

So Trump wants to be Lincoln, when he ordered the naval bombardment of New York City* when the draft riots were happening. (as I recall from the 2002 movie Gangs of New York). But Lincoln didn't have the June 18, 1878 Posse Comitatus Act to sidestep.

Now the Secretary of War:
Quote:And we must. We are preparing every day. We have to be prepared for war, not for defense. We're training warriors, not defenders. We fight wars to win, not to defend. Defense is something you do all the time. It's inherently reactionary and can lead to overuse, overreach and mission creep. War is something you do sparingly on our own terms and with clear aims. We fight to win. We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy.

We also don't fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement, just common sense, maximum lethality and authority for warfighters.

That's all I ever wanted as a platoon leader. And it's all my E-6 squad leaders ever wanted, back to that E-6 rule. We let our leaders fight their formations and then we have their back. It's very simple yet incredibly powerful.

It's very much like the famous Trump quote, something like "Just knock the crap out of them. I'll cover your legal fees." Only Hegseth is talking much more lethal action with no legal consequences.

"This Democrat city is your battle field. Kill who you think needs killing. Destroy what you think needs destroying. Don't worry, we at the Pentagon have your back."

There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people. - Commander William Adama

If that crap is what you call an accurate transcript, I can see why the public has non-intersecting ideas of truth. Here is what he said:

Now, the question is, is this libellous misquoting deliberate, or is it a "convenient mistake"?

oh I got it, but I ignored it because said 'point' was invalidated by being founded/based on false information. sort of like the whole 'incitement to violence' /'these cities are not violent' nonsense . utter illogicality.   Thats why there is no point of engaging half the time since it is literal nonsense.

It's the old "Damn, we tried slipping that in to set the narrative"
