BERLIN, Oct 1 (Reuters) - The Oktoberfest beer festival in Munich will remain shut on Wednesday until at least 5 pm (1500 GMT) after police said they discovered explosives in a residential building in the north of the city that caught fire and left one person dead.
As part of a major operation that police earlier said posed no danger to the public, special forces were investigating an area in the north of Munich where Bild newspaper and multiple other reports said shots and explosions had been heard.

"We are currently investigating all possibilities. Possible connections to other locations in Munich are being examined, including the Theresienwiese (where the Oktoberfest is located)," said Munich police on the WhatsApp messaging service.
"For this reason, the opening of the festival grounds has been delayed," police added.
The Oktoberfest, the world's biggest folk festival, opened on September 20 and will end on October 5.
On its website, the Oktoberfest said it would remain shut on Wednesday until 5 pm in connection with the explosion in northern Munich.

You make it sound a bit misleading. A house in Munich burned down which had IEDs, a van was also set on fire as well as a bomb threat. Also the dead body belongs to the suspect behind all that shit. So yes, the Oktoberfest is shut dosn because of the bomb threat, but there was no explosion on the area of the Oktoberfest.

According to current information, the residential building was deliberately set on fire during a family dispute," police continued. One person who was found injured has since died. This person is the suspect (57). He is a German citizen and registered in Starnberg. The suspect's parents live in the affected house in Munich.

 

The 57-year-old had neither firearms nor explosives permits. According to preliminary findings, the suspect committed suicide near Lerchenauer Lake," Munich police said in a press release this afternoon.

GERMAN breweries have been told to stop the production of beer amid fears Oktoberfest will be cancelled after Russia cut off gas supplies . . .

They were going to cancel the whole thing back in 2022 (see above). 

I can never have my homebrew ready by Oktoberfest. My hops ripen and are harvested around Labor Day. It takes me a minimum of six weeks to get it into bottles, then another two weeks before drinking.
