Don't get me wrong, I am excited for the potential of this too!
I just feel tempered by the fact that this is largely about "the military perspective' which is likely to feature lots of 'threat' terminology and focus.
I would be very much surprised if ANY of this testimony was about actual "contact" with theoretical alien entities.
I expect it will all be about 'demonstrated capabilities' and "Gosh, we don't know..."
My fear is that...
Having failed at convincing the world we would simply collapse into a panicked mob (a la Brookings report), they will now engender fear differently...
