Do you really need a reason to listen to Rod Stewart ?

No, I don't need a reason to listen to Rod Stewart. I also don't need a reason to not listen to him.
I saw him in concert in Phoenix during the Smiler tour, in 1970 something, during what I call the "blurry years". He's one of those rock icons that are like a sculpture in time. I'm glad you brought him up. I will have to dig up my cassettes to relive those times. Yes, I know I can stream anything. I come from an age where we wanted to own our music. I converted from eight-track to cassettes, and the best of those to CDs. I have an excellent and pure record collection also. Probably should be in a museum.

Did you know the guy that creates that mandolin melody at the end of Maggie may isnt listed in the credits. Was some unnamed person I forgot the story going to dig it up.
The player on the famous mandolin part of Rod Stewart's "Maggie May" was Ray Jackson from the folk-rock band Lindisfarne. He was the mandolin player for the group, and though not credited at the time of the song's 1971 release, his iconic riff became a key feature of the hit single |
