Quote:Nick Pope, a prominent voice in the study of unidentified aerial phenomena, has died after a battle with cancer. He was widely known for his work with the UK’s Ministry of Defence, where he investigated UFO reports in the 1990s, and was dubbed by the media as the real-life Fox Mulder (the fictional X-Files character portrayed by David Duchovny).
After leaving government service, Pope became a leading civilian commentator on UFOs, and was regularly featured in documentaries, news programs, and conferences. He championed greater transparency and scientific inquiry, and was the author of a number of books including "Open Skies, Closed Minds," and "The Uninvited: An Expose of the Alien Abduction Phenomenon."
Over the years, he was a frequent guest on Coast to Coast AM. Among his many appearances, listeners may revisit a 2007 interview with George Noory, in which Pope detailed his investigations into UFO sightings for the British military

Quote:My heart is breaking -- Nick passed away this afternoon at our home. The last few weeks of his life, even as he suffered, he managed to do a few interviews from home. I was so lucky to have met and to have married Nick. He was a wonderful husband. I loved him dearly.

He apparently died from cancer.

I didn't care all that much for how badly Pope inflated his importance in the UFO community, but he did bring a lot of attention to the field, and that at the very least is respectable.

Rest in peace Mr. Pope...

When with ATS Live, I had the brief pleasure of being among those who interviewed him.

He was thoughtful cogent... and seemed to appreciate the sincerity of the topic discussed...

I'm happy to have share a moment with the man, if only in conversation.

Condolences and comfort for the grieving...

I was never a fan of "personalities" on any topic, so I only know the name, not the person, but 60 is too early to die. Sad

R.I.P

May the LIGHT continue to watch over he and guide he on his soul journey.

Amongst lots of the "noise" he shared some truths about NHI and NHI technology/science.

I was never a big fan of his as he was just another one of the so called experts to jump on the 'UFO' band wagon, but my condolences to his family and may he rest in peace.

Seems to recall he was all about the zero-point energy.

RIP Nick

Nick was certainly a recognized part of UFO lore, and certainly made a name for himself, much more than anyone here, for sure. He was one of the first to have actually professionally worked in his field and he brought a lot of knowledge into prime time Ufology. R.I.P. Nick Pope and God Speed. You will be missed.

He always seemed a bit pompous to me.
