They are big on using artificial dyes in some of their products. They may be anti-abortion, but seem to be pro bowel diseases and even increased cancer risk. That's enough to stop eating their products IMO.

------------------------------------

"Artificial Dyes: Many popular chip brands use artificial dyes and colors, but these additives have been linked to possible allergic reactions, hyperactivity in children, bowel diseases, and even an increased cancer risk in some cases. When reading the nutrition label, avoid brands that use Red 40, Red 40 Lake, Yellow 5, Yellow 5 Lake, Yellow 6, Yellow 6 Lake, or Blue 1. Instead, look for brands that use natural flavorings and dyes."

AI can only offer Marxist 'theories' - garbage in, garbage out.

Trade unions are good, but not good enough as they don't really protect the working classes from exploitation.

Enter governments who try to force striking workers to accept arbitration decisions that still do not address the inequality, unethical practices, exploitation and bad faith negotiations, or no negotiating at all, from corporate money grubbing CEOs and shareholders.

Boycotts, protests, standing one's ground when government threatens to jail striking workers/union members, has a place in getting the message across and asserting workers' actual power to evoke beneficial changes.

okay now your Trotsky is showing.

"The WSWS is the online publication of the world Trotskyist movement, the International Committee of the Fourth International, and its affiliated sections in the Socialist Equality Parties around the world. It launched publication in February 1998, and has been publishing continuously for the past 25 years."

From your own link....Marxist.

Boycotting and protesting corporations for workers' rights, unethical practices, tax avoidance etc. doesn't fall into the Marxist or Socialist definitions.

Maybe you believe you are standing up for workers rights but I have doubts about it.

"While Marxism explicitly supports workers' rights as a foundation of its ideology, critics argue that in practice, some Marxist and socialist movements have historically co-opted and manipulated these rights to serve their own political ends. This approach, often characterized as a means to an end rather than the end itself, uses workers' struggles to gain and consolidate power.
  • A necessary but limited struggle: According to Marx, unions and struggles for immediate economic gains like higher wages and better conditions are essential for organizing the working class. They raise class consciousness by highlighting the conflict between workers and capitalists.
  • Beyond reform: Marx and Engels believed that while unions could challenge the absolute power of the bourgeoisie, their primary function within a capitalist system is often to limit damage rather than to fundamentally change the system. They viewed the focus on minor improvements as potentially co-opting workers and diverting them from the ultimate goal of overthrowing capitalism itself. The ultimate emancipation of workers, in this view, requires seizing the means of production, not just bargaining for a better deal. " More Google AI

I was only attempting to explain that Marxism is not pro-labor-union, since labor unions keep the "law of money" intact. And they function within the law of money.

--------
Today I struck a blow against General Mills. I did not buy a box of Wheaties.
I thought it was a blow for DEI.
Nope. Turns out that General Mills boycott is about toxic chemicals.

But I also did not buy Fritos.

I knew what you were getting at re: labour unions/law of money and these boycotts are not just about workers' rights but as you point out, about unethical practices, like poisoning us for profit.

As for the upcoming boycott, it's mainly targeted at Amazon for various reasons and it is global.

"There is a global boycott against Amazon primarily due to its decision to close all its warehouses in Quebec, which has led to significant layoffs and protests.
------------

As for Wheaties, they will be circling back to General Mills, Target and the like to spread awareness.

"Wheaties may pose some health risks due to their ingredients and processing methods. Here are some key points regarding Wheaties toxicity: ------------------

Most cereals and grains have quite a bit of glyphosate and glyphosate residue in them from them being pre-harvest desiccated with glyphosate chemicals.  They have just recently tested the breakdown residue chemistries of glyphosate and many health conditions have been identified in that research.  I might have that research article saved in my bookmarks...if I can find it.....Here it is....https://medicalxpress.com/news/2024-12-reveals-effects-common-herbicide-brain.html

The brain inflammation can cause multiple disruptions in our bodies, a lot of our organs are tied to proper brain function.

There is not much of the glyphosate metabolite in organic grains and cereals though, it is present in small amounts through contamination by spraying nearby fields.  Most of our wheat flours also contain higher amounts of the residue if not organic.

I only studied this subject thoroughly because I am one of the rare people who possesses two copies of a gene that means I cannot detox organophosphates or their metabolites.  It is not just DDT and the subsequent banned pesticides that have taken it's place that cause brain cancer and other diseases.  Gladly, my kids and grandkids only have one copy of the gene involved, they have a small reduction, but actually by the pre-harvest decication they are still at risk if they consume foods containing it in higher levels since there is way more of the breakdown chemicals and some actual glyphosate in it since doing this.

Sometimes I feel that these companies making these chemicals are trying to kill us off, but that is nuts, they just are tied to companies making expensive meds that we will need. Lol

I am sorry to hear about your gene issue and maybe there are other ways to detox your body of poisons? Have you researched detoxing?

Now I'm reading General Mills' cleaning chemicals used on their equipment is also getting into the food, these are forever chemicals. Just read about Cheerios having high levels of phthalates. Phthalates are chemicals used in plastic. But the article was published in 2024 but I don't see any 2025 articles claiming these forever chemicals were halted. All I see in my mind are babies eating Cheerios.

Other foods containing forever harmful chemicals.

Boycott companies that refuse to remove the harmful elements from their products and lie to us telling us these chemicals/plastics are safe.

"Microplastics’ impact on health and overall well-beingThe health risks of microplastics are still being studied, but emerging research points to serious concerns, making how to detox from microplastics a critical topic. Microplastics can:
  • Disrupt Hormones: Chemicals like bisphenol A (BPA), phthalates, and PFAS in microplastics act as endocrine disruptors, mimicking hormones like estrogen, which can lead to hormonal imbalances, reproductive issues, and infertility.
  • Promote Inflammation: Microplastics cause oxidative stress, increasing free radical production and potentially leading to chronic inflammation, cardiovascular disease, and neurotoxicity.
  • Increase Cancer Risk: Some studies suggest microplastics may contribute to cancer, particularly in the digestive tract, due to their accumulation in tissues.
  • Foster Infections: Microplastics can serve as breeding grounds for harmful bacteria and fungi, potentially increasing infection rates.
  • Impact Fertility: High levels of microplastics in reproductive organs may contribute to declining fertility rates."
5 Proven ways on how to remove microplastics from your body

I am not promoting the above detox method, but they seem to think they know proven methods to detox your body of microplastics.

"Zeolites are natural minerals with a porous structure that can trap toxins, including microplastics, and facilitate their removal from the body. Other supplements to consider include:
  • Chlorella and Spirulina: These algae bind to microplastics and heavy metals, aiding their excretion. Chlorella can enter the bloodstream, potentially cleansing microplastic residues.
  • Activated Charcoal: Known for absorbing chemicals like BPA in the digestive tract, activated charcoal may help how to remove microplastics from your body.
  • Probiotics and Omega-3s: These support gut health and reduce inflammation, aiding the body’s ability to handle microplastics."
-------------

That is the second time I'm reading about algae being an instrument of binding other elements to itself for elimination from the body. Interesting.

I do not get it.  What will this gain?  I would never disparage an OP.  But this whole plan will never make a dent in our economy.  It will likely only result in getting on a 3-letter agency watch-list for being a threat to the economy.  I understand some people see the "rich" as the enemy.  But nobody will define exactly what "rich" is.  It sure is not being a millionaire, because a million will only get you thru maybe one year in today's devalued dollar...if that long.

And before targeting the "rich", please try to understand that they are the job providers whether we like it or not.  Jobs do not simply appear out of the ether.

We are not a socialist, or communist economy.  If we actually were, we would likely already be in national bankruptcy, and dollar would then completely collapse.  I worked for decades in computerized automation all around the world.  I have seen those countries economies.  Those rich companies gave me a fine career, and not only food on the plate, but very good retirement money when I decide to use it.

Be careful what you wish for.
