Amazon.  Google.  Walmart.  Meta.  Tesla.  Apple.  Megacompanies that were once the golden children of the now-protesting left.   All are capitalist companies, regardless of the professed politics of their owners/CEOs.

I don't think any of this current movement will affect the megacompanies at all.   I respect protest.   I don't respect protest which seeks to cripple the economy or the movement of the working class people.   I remember decades ago when Queer Nation temporarily closed the Bay Bridge in the San Francisco area.    Prior to that I was a supporter of the edgy group.   Not after that.   Not after ambulances and other emergency equipment couldn't get through.

Peaceful protest.  No peripheral riots.  Passionate speeches, sure, but violence and damage to the struture and flow of the working class I will never listen to, because for me, that is unconstitutional.

I was really happy with San Jose Matt Mahan this morning.   It took sand for him to call out California Governor Newsome, saying, "instead of trying to kill the internet, why don't we focus on that which will help California."   You damn right.

Pepsico, who not only owns Pepsi, but also Frito Lay, Mountain Dew and Gatorade, their stock is actually up. You want to make a dent in a company, dump their stock.
Amazon is down right now, but they yo-yo back and forth just about every day so....

I don't disagree with 'fusion is the future' thing, but right now the fusion future is not here.

Corporations like Amazon are killing brick and mortar and other entrepreneurial businesses.

This is actually a global movement with showing issues with Amazon and I won't be ordering anything from them during that time. The only issue I have is that they don't post any data on their financial sales/earnings, so it's difficult to get a handle on whether or not there will be a 'downward blip' in their sales. But this grassroots movement is growing and they will be having these types of boycotts more frequent and for longer periods of time.

AI: "Boycotting Amazon is often advocated due to its unethical labor practices, aggressive tax avoidance, and detrimental impact on small businesses and local economies."

Did you know that some youtubers compare Amazon vs. Temu products and not only is Amazon's price twice as much, but in many instances it is the exact same product. Rip Off! Just saying.
Your Trotsky is showing again.

"In Marxist theory, trade unions are viewed as essential, yet limited, organizations that unite workers against capitalist exploitation by fighting for better wages and conditions. They serve as a crucial training ground for the working class to develop solidarity and revolutionary consciousness, preparing them for broader social change." You can go ahead and keep your training grounds.

Google AI must be listening to the freaking Spartacist League. They don't reflect true Marxism.
Quote:The Marxist movement has a long and rich record of theoretical and political discussion on the trade unions, and their inherent limitations. The Spartacist League makes no study of this record. Instead, it attributes to Marxism a rosy assessment of trade unions and their supposed revolutionary potential, which is entirely unwarranted from the standpoint of Marxist doctrine and, moreover, flies in the face of the long and bitter practical experience of the working class with the unions.
...
As a serious review of the writings of the most important Marxist theoreticians makes clear, Spartacist’s notion that the basic task of socialists is to transform the unions into instruments of revolutionary struggle is a wild departure from Marxist doctrine. Indeed, Marx and Engels stressed that the unions, by virtue of their essential economic function, did not oppose the wages system, but rather helped enforce it.

There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people. - Commander William Adama

Quote:We are shutting down the U.S. economy - strategically and peacefully - by removing our labor, our spending, our financial support, forcing the system to listen.

Anyone foolish enough to fall for this is not a person who is important to the economy to begin with.

I hope the SEC is watching carefully to figure out what's really behind this and who is trying to line their pockets. Also what foreign players are foaming at the mouth? Note - "shutting down the U.S. economy"  Rolleyes , not shutting down the world's economy. Talk about taking a dump in their own backyard.

Adolescent-minded idiots who don't realize they are being used to poke their own eyes out.
